Praying for the best for you! If you ever need to talk, I'm here. XO
A huge thanks to @Steph1710 , @Tanni , and @twa for sending me with some very kind messages when I went on hiatus.
    Steph1710
Hi @Jebbis hope you're doing okay my lovely? Thank you for the shout out! I've decided I am coming to the States in 2023, so if you and your partner are about, I would love to meet up! We could go on an awesome hike somewhere together & listen to some FNM & some Tool. :)

    Steph x x
I wanted to say to everyone that I really appreciate all the support you have all given me, even when I took a break from the forum.
Hey guys, I'm back for a minute to say hello. I've been doing a lot better so I probably won't stick around too long...
I hope everyone is able to have hope and stay positive. I'll return with positive updates. Peace out.
    Steph1710
Thanks my lovely. <3 :) I could be better. Had a lovely evening with friends, but I've managed to gain an ear infection from swimming, so on top of everything, I'm now in pain -_-
    Jebbis
Hiiiii Steph:) I hope you are doing well and I hope that ear infection cleared up :/
I just met the most disappointing doctor... I'm going into private Healthcare.
    Kriszti
If hearing related, private healthcare is not much better. They are probably nicer, but just as clueless.
    Steph1710
Come to England - you can meet a whole bunch of useless doctors here.. though you'll be told to be grateful because it's free healthcare LOL!
    Jebbis
@Kriszti well I'm choosing to be hopeful because its all I have right now. Please let me be hopeful. I think I'm seeing a really good doctor who likes to get to the bottom of things. If he can figure me out it's a success. I don't need him to cure me for it to be a success. I just need someone to care. My GP didn't even look in my ears at my last visit. So yeah. The bar is pretty low.
8 months in and my tinnitus has not faded into a hiss like many report. It is still a strong, clear tone that reacts to sound. 1.7khz.
    twa
    @Jebbis I'm also 8 months. I saw you're taking a break. Wishing you health and healing. T~
    Jebbis
does that make you my T-twin?
    Lol, anything for a laugh.
Thanks so much for the support, it means so much.
    twa
We can be t-twins :-D. I can be your older, cool sister ;-D I'm confident that you will improve. Take good care of yourself. I wish I had done that when I was younger. I worked a lot and stayed up late way too much.
Imagine if hearing protection was as normalized as sun glasses. LOL
    Jebbis
@Martinf i completely agree. I've literally accidentally looked at the sun before and my eyes are fine, not that I recommend it, but compared to our ears, eyes seem to be hearty!
    Shelbylynn
I am young and definitely warn all my friends now! I never knew it was really a thing. Idk why we don't think of our hearing when we're healthy and fine
    Jebbis
@Shelbylynn I'm young too, only 20, and i cannot believe the things people do to their ears. I see 6 year olds existing with air pods in their ears. Its madness. I also try to warn people
Note to self: tuesdays are not the day to stay home. Maintenance is here. Very very loud. Oh bother.
Yesterday I ran for the first time since straining my ankle last October and my head clicks! It's bizarre, many clicks with every step!
    Jebbis
It wasn't intense running or anything, just some Frisbee with my boyfriend in the park. Head didn't hurt weirdly, just clicked.
Honestly, I don't think my T volume has gone down. When I first got it I only heard it at night. It was much fainter than now I think.
Just saw this on a thread and it caught my eye: "if there is life, there is hope." I like that.
    Sentinel
Saw somewhere somebody said their quality of life was less than it was before due to problems and the response was: "that's the thing about life, it's got qualities..."
    Bill Bauer
"The last part of a human to die is hope."
I think my T may be slightly reactive as it seems to become very stable and modulates less if I am laying still in silence
Maybe I should just go into audiology, since this is all I seem to think about nowadays anyway.
When my T mixes with background noise especially outside, it sounds like a whistling wind.

Interesting...the closest way I can best describe mine is ringing and an airplane engine when boarding. I prefer the airplane engine to ringing.
    Jebbis
@twa interesting...are the different sounds in different ears, or the same?
Last time I was at the dentist and I told him my teeth were not lining up correctly, he offered to grind them down.
2020 for me was pandemic, isolation, aliens are real, ears are not real, severe ankle sprain. Thank u
Ugh. I'm doing the thing where I obsess over it and plug my ears all the time. Yuck.
    Stacken77
@Jebbis Just make sure to not plug your ears literally 24/7, please. I've gone down that route and I think it has destroyed my life as I've become extremely sensitive to sound. Earplugs is fine as long as you get some hours of sound per day.
    Jebbis
Thanks for the concern @Stacken77 I haven't been plugging for protection, I've just been over monitoring my sound
I also wanna know why I have all these symptoms on the same side as the T. I'm really hoping I can find a doctor who likes to solve riddles
I really really want to know why my tinnitus can vanish when I plug my ear real hard. Makes me feel like something is stuck in there:(
    M
Mine also decreases the more i plug my ears harder. It also changes tone. I was thinking it is middle ear ptoblem. Maybe something is wrong with the pressure but doctors said that my ears are fine
    Jebbis
@Martinf see, that is just bizarre to me.
I think doctors are severely undertrained in many aspects.
I agree that it could be issues with pressure. So strange.
Whats the quality of your T? Frequency?
Are you ever able to completely take the tinnitus out of your perception from doing this plug maneuver?
    M
My T is high pitch (6khz/8khz) sometimes it is higher. When I plug my ears the high pitch gets lower and i starts to hear a tone at 1340hz exactly in my left ear. I dont hear this tone when my ears are unplugged but i have reactivity to any sound arround 1khz in that ear. Sometimes if i push my thumbs really hard in my ears the T goes to 0.
Was walking today w/ bf...a loud car started approaching, so I plugged my ears. He revved extra hard right next to us. So sad.
    Diesel
    Karma will find that person.
    Jebbis
Thank you @Diesel luckily since I plugged my ears it wasn't too loud, but it really hurt my feelings that people like to be mean
Just went on a nice hour long walk through my town in the evening sun. In the park, two gents were having a duel with swords. Pretty cool.
