Loudness hyperacusis with reactive tinnitus. It wasn't reactive before the hearing protection abuse. My tinnitus has become highly reactive. It spikes in reaction to pretty much any sound. People talking, road noise inside the car, tap water running in kitchen, if I sneeze, someone giggling...

My 2 cents. I fucked up my tinnitus and got hyperacusis following some members' advice here of using hearing protection against any sounds. Do not, at any cost, use hearing protection 24x7. It will definitely make things worse. I wish I had listened to @Michael Leigh.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate your replies. Currently it is day 2 and the tinnitus spike and hyperacusis are still really bad. I feel pressure in my head as well. I hope it goes back to the baseline.

@Rust, what was the result, did you get a permanent spike?

I took Atorvastatin for almost 2 years. And I think it made my tinnitus worse. I was taking 40 mg and now I stopped. Do you guys think my tinnitus will go back to baseline since I stopped the drug? Or is it a long term damage?

How did it go with the spike? Did it come down? Same thing happened to me today.

The most annoying thing about members here is they don't provide closure to their posts. This includes me as well. This time when my flare up settles I will write a post about it so the people who come here looking for answers can find one instead of more complaints without end results.
