Have You Figured Out What Things Spike Your Tinnitus?

    What meds exactly?

Tinnitus Spike from Caulking Gun: Can You Believe It?

That sound was short and not amplified (as in; not a speaker, not an explosion), so 99,99% chance spike is caused by the stress/worry, and your brain therefor focusing on your T as if it was a threat. The experienced loudness will subside.

How to Cope with Prolonged Periods of Time at Home Due to Tinnitus Spike?

Do go outside, but with earplugs. Those made of foam will lower a 110 dB sound to around 80 dB. You're safe at 80 dB, especially since a siren or horn will only last for a few seconds.

Tinnitus Spike from Snapping a Tree Branch — Possibility of It Being Permanent?

Your spike most probably is psychological only, since your brain filters out sound as a serious threat, and this sound stood out, your brain got scared, triggered fight/flight. Therefor the effect is kind the opposite of habituation. I.e. your brain will notice your tinnitus more... for some...

What ADD/ADHD Medications Can I Use When I Have Tinnitus?

Has anyone here had a spike AFTER you STOP taking Elvanse (Lisdexamfetamine), which is an ADHD medication? I was on it daily for about 6 weeks, 20-30 mg.

    Healthy vs Damaged Ear

So, the general understanding of how long a human´s maximum exposure (time/loudness) may be, to avoid risk of hearing damage, is not to be taken as valid for one with (noise induced) tinnitus? I´ve always understood it as exposure per 24 H, and then your ears/cells get rested, and are ready to...

Change in Tinnitus Character without Reason, Anyone?

Hi @Bobbie7, For clarity, my T got 3-4 times as loud after that one night out - about 3,5 years ago. Switched to better earplugs, no changes for the last 3,5 years, until this day a few weeks ago. - 17 years ago, initial start, noise induced - 3,5 years ago, got 3-4 times louder, noise...

Change in Tinnitus Character without Reason, Anyone?

So, short story; had noise induced tinnitus for 17 years without any noticeable changes, then had it majorly worsen after a long night out, with badly fitted earplugs (4 years ago). Then, been using extremely good earplugs, etc. (Non-hollow, custom mold silicon, SNR should be over 30 dB). Had no...

How Long Between Trauma and Start of Tinnitus?

I'm of course hoping that what happened is my brain is "just not" ignoring T as easily for the moment, because my brain experienced a threatening incident, which would be in par with some established theories... *crossed fingers*

How Long Between Trauma and Start of Tinnitus?

Hi, I wonder about symtoms after experiencing a loud bang (firecracker). I did'nt notice any symptoms in connection, more than of course serious anxiety. Now it's over 72 hours since exposure, and I think my T is louder, i.e. harder to mask, but when plugging my ears I can't tell if there is a...

How Loud Is a Firecracker Really?

BTW, I see some talk about steroid-treatment after exposure to lound sound. Any experience? Is it proven to make a difference? Is it done in Germany?

How Loud Is a Firecracker Really?

Yeah... Maybe use 9F-plugs when worried? Cuts off 6 dB, not much but... And then use -30 dB plugs when the risk is really high.
