MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Discussion & Experiences & Questions

Dear Darktale, Do you know if the Canon Orian model is quieter than the other Canon's models with Pianissimo technology? I ask this because there is another model of 1.5T - Canon Vantage Elan (https://us.medical.canon/products/magnetic-resonance/vantage-elan-15t/), which also have Pianissimo...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

I think Canon Vantage 1.5T with Pianissimo technology is the most quiet one from traditional MRIs. I was able to locate them in my country using the international customer service e-mail, which is listed on the official website.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Discussion & Experiences & Questions

I've seen some people arguing that, but also the opposite, stating that the images obtained by these low field MRI scanners for extremities are not worse than those obtained by the traditional ones with higher magnetic field: "If comparing the O-Scan to a 1.5 tesla unit, we find images are very...

    Hearing Protection for MRI Exam?

Dear members, I need to have an MRI on my knee, and I have 2 model options: Toshiba Vantage Galan 3T, or Toshiba Vantage Elan 1.5T, both with "Pianissimo" technology. The model Vantage Elan should be quiter because it's 1.5T right? Another question: Do you know of any place in Europe to buy...

Acoustic Shock-Induced (Car Alarm in a Store) Tinnitus for Over a Month Now

Dear all, I have hyperacusis and a car alarm went off for 2 seconds before I fingered my ears just in front of my house when I was inside without earplugs. I didn't feel pain. There were 2 protections between me and the alarm: the windows of the house (not double glass, just single glass)...

    Tonal Audiogram with Increasing/Decreasing Volume

Thank you for your answer. My ENT told me this audiogram covers frequencies up to 14kHz. I'm afraid because my sound sensibility is mostly on high frequencies. As anyone here with H has done this extended audiogram with decreasing volume? How did you feel? Best regards

    Tonal Audiogram with Increasing/Decreasing Volume

Dear members, An ENT doctor told me that the audiograms with tones that increases in volume until the patient rises the hand are not feasible. He told me that the correct way to do this is to start with audible tones and decrease the volume until the patient doesn’t hear them, rising his hand...

Airbag Deployment in a Car Accident — Delayed Symptoms 7 Days Later: Ear Fullness, Sound Sensitivity

Do you think this is related with the accident? The fullness feeling is not constant, it comes and goes several times a day, as well as my sound sensivity. Should I take prednisone 10 days after the accident anyway? I have deflazacort which is the same thing I guess.
