    Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

@Ricardo AM my ENT told me that as well and it just seems ridiculous this day and age. To go to a specialist for help and to hear that there's nothing that can be done is just depressing. The only advice I was given was he said I sh0uld go to an audiologist and get a masker if it bothers me, Of...

    Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

@Quentino thanks for the fast response. I don't expect my hearing to return to normal range although I'm still trying to be optimistic. I also realize I need to be realistic and I would be happy with any improvement in hearing. I'm just concerned if the ringing has a lower chance of going away...

    Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

@truesilence I will ask about the OAE test as I wasn't told about it by my ENT and that is something that I would like to know. Maybe I should get advice from a different ENT as well? Are the hairs in the cochlea repairable to any extent?

    Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

@Quentino that's a copy of my audiogram, I'm not sure as to how to read it but compared to my right ear it doesn't look very good. Do you think some of my hearing might return or the ringing will subside. Its only been 7 weeks. I will look into hbot but I know my insurance wont cover it so Im...

    Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

Thanks guys I would be happy with any improvement at this point. I figured when I couldn't even hear birds chirping out of my left ear that there was hearing loss but I never expected it to be so bad on the audiogram and have such a low chance at improving. It makes me feel like I took 2 steps...

    Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

Hey everyone I've had tinnitus for 7 weeks due to loud noise exposure from being at a shooting range with a friend. I was finally able to see the ent and audiologist today after over a month of waiting. It turns out I have pretty severe high frequency hearing loss, my audiogram basically drops...

6 Weeks In, Still No Relief

@MonkLN I have been having a horrible time with my T this week as well. To top it off I finally had my appointment with the audiologist and the ent and he made me feel even worse. Turns out I have pretty severe hearing loss in the higher frequencies, at 3k my hearing nosedives to the bottom of...

3 Months In and I Am MUCH BETTER!

Glad to hear you're doing better, I am at 7 weeks now and still having a hard time. Did you have any loss of hearing or a muffled/fullness feeling as well? I have t but I'm having a hard time hearing certain sounds like birds, keys things to that extent. Mine was also from gun noise

6 Weeks In, Still No Relief

Hey Chris you have been really helpful and supportive and it makes me feel better being able to talk about it. You are right on about my whole perception on it and being depressed about it. After talking to you today was the first day in 6 weeks that my mind actually let me relax and not focus...

    My Thoughts on Tinnitus

Chris Alexander and edwinR thank you for giving me some hope and making me feel like I CAN get through this. It means a lot coming from someone that has been through it and beat these thoughts and anxiety. I will look into Phenegran and Calms Forte sleep aid to help me relax at night and...

6 Weeks In, Still No Relief

Thank you all for the support and helping me realize that I'm not in this all alone. Trying to explain my situation to the Dr. is difficult as they make me feel I should just overlook it as there is not much they can do. I was given Zithromax 2 weeks ago when I saw my Dr. because he feels that...
