I got tinnitus from Neomycin. I suggest you to stop using it immediately. Neomycin ear drops are a bitch if you have undetected ear drum perforation.

Another point is that lots people can change there T by clenching/moving jaw. I would guess it is because cheek muscle is so close to cochlear which can physically change cochlear behavior, like making it more intense, etc. If the T signal is generated inside the brain, it would be harder to...

oh.BTW. the reason I posted this is not encouraging people to go deaf but starting a discussion of where exactly is our T generated. If we figure that out, it can be a milestone of T research as when now it comes with the brain theory, all the research teams are pretty much like" oh...

This is why I believe the "brain filling in input gap" theory is wrong. As removing all the inputs doesn't make it catastrophically worse.

I have seen a person had this treatment on another T forum. Unfortunately, it failed although he decided to leave the implant in his body.

Same story here.. I believe Neomycin ear drop induced T is the most terrible type. I feel what you are going through. May I ask where you are located?Apparently, neomycin ear drops are too commonly prescribed in NZ and Australia.

It would be a very interesting topic I think. If researchers can figure that out, T could possibly be cured or maybe turned into hearing loss which wouldn't bother us this much.

Good points. But I still wonder why some people have hearing loss or complete deafness but no T or minor T :)
