    Lidocaine/Josef Rauschecker

There seems to be two Lidocaine derivatives that could be taken orally. Mexiletine and Tocainide. Both have been trailed heavily in the 80s and 90s with rather good results but due to the effect being only temporary it was not worth the risk as these drugs can not be taken long term. I guess...

Can Blocking HCN2 Ion Channels Silence Tinnitus? RNID Funds Prof. McNaughton's Team to Find Out

Could this be why Lidocaine works for tinnitus but nobody knows why? Almost all papers admit significant reduction or total resolution of tinnitus under IV Lidocaine but can not attribute it to its most well known MoA on sodium channels since other sodium channel blockers do not work. Lidocaine...

Can Blocking HCN2 Ion Channels Silence Tinnitus? RNID Funds Prof. McNaughton's Team to Find Out

I read about Ivabradine, seems like it's a very serious medication that controls the heart pacemaker current. I do not suggest anybody to try it. It needs medical supervision due to the risk of atrial fibrillation. Also, it seems that this paper in 2015 mentions that HCN2 along with KCNQ...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

There was another trial done by another group trying the same protocol by Dr. Shore, please refer to this paper. They mentioned that "When multiple tinnitus sounds were perceived, it was suggested to concentrate on the most troublesome tinnitus sound." Although this trial's results are a bit...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Yes, the device plays the exact frequency that could be matched to your tinnitus. Please refer to this paper. However, please note that they cannot 'match' the frequency in animal model of tinnitus accurately either so if you can match it closely enough, you should be fine.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I had difficulty with matching my tone too. On some days I can easily match it to 10 kHz, other times to 8.5 kHz. I will tell you what worked for me. Go to the most silent place you can go, it could be a closed room in your house with all sound/machines turned down and away from windows or...

Bupropion (Zyntabac) Gave Me Tinnitus On the 4th Day of Taking It

Sorry pal, I missed your comment. No, Abilify did not cure me, it just made things better. After 1 week of taking it things were considerably better on all measures. Now, things are not as good as they were after starting the treatment.

Bupropion (Zyntabac) Gave Me Tinnitus On the 4th Day of Taking It

I have been prescribed Deanxit + Clonazepam before the Abilify. They did nothing for me. I take the Abilify in the morning. Effects are not as strong as in the beginning but I am still doing better than before it and so I continue to take it. I have more good days now than bad days which are...

Bupropion (Zyntabac) Gave Me Tinnitus On the 4th Day of Taking It

8.5 Months Update: I will keep this as short as possible, I have been trying Abilify at 2 mg per day for almost 3 weeks. After just 1 week my distress about tinnitus almost vanished and my tinnitus also dropped considerably. This drug knocked it out by no less than 50% at this time. I will...

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

Hello Nick, I had positive experience with Clonazepam 0.125 mg + Gabapentin 300 mg per day. I tried this for a short period, like 5 days, and it works. I was tempted to try the Deanxit + Clonazepam combo prescribed to me so I stopped the Gabapentin and switched to Deanxit. I upped my Clonazepam...
