I'm 45 years old. I teach a behavior class in south Seattle. The kids have to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, but most have learning disabilities too. I've been working with kids in some capacity for about 20 years. I have dog I found on a reservation, and I pretty much baby her. She's living the sweet life.
In January of this year (2017) I started experiencing a ringing/roaring/shooshing in my ears. The left worse than the right. After many, many doctors appointments, which included Urgent Care, primary care, ENTs, and specialist...not much information was given. They have tossed around tinnitus and Meniere's Disease. They've tried me on a bunch of different medications including nose sprays, prednisone, and a water pill and nothing. I'm seeing an acupuncturist now. I'm not hopeful though.
I know I sound like a Debbie Downer, but this week has been the hardest. The roaring seems worse than ever. I can't talk on the phone. I can't hear my students. The only time I have quiet in my head is if I'm wearing earbuds or I'm asleep. I am cranky and irritable. It's not fair to everyone around me. Yesterday was a very very, low day for me. I mean very low.
Now I have people sending me suggestions on oils, powders, supplements, and everything under the sun to take and try. I'm overwhelmed. Just looking for other people who share this affliction I guess.
