The tinnitus is like glass shattering along with nails screeching on blackboard and the sound of a dentist's drill. Still the tinnitus is a walk in the park compared with the hyperacusis, which is constant and extremely reactive. I suffer from a multi systemic genetic illness which sensitises me to chronic pain, and I believe neuro inflammation and overactive glia are responsible for my lack of improvement. The blasting speakers was a disaster, but multiple courses of IV antibiotics and surgeries really made the condition impossible to live with. However I do believe (due to personal experience) that some pain conditions can improve over time.
