Has Anyone Tried Antioxidants for Tinnitus Relief?

I have, with some success. I began with this article on antioxidants, an internationally sourced study published in Switzerland that touts a specific regimen of vitamins and antioxidants: What I did was find (1) a Multivitamin and (2) a B-Complex Vitamin that together provided the same or...

The NO/ONOO- Cycle as the Etiological Mechanism of Tinnitus

I am confused by the article. Is taking Nitric Oxide supplements good or bad?

I Invented a Sound That Knocked Out My Tinnitus

Thank you for your reply. My tinnitus is indeed a single tone—a very high-pitched electrical sound. Although the frequency doesn’t change, the volume and intensity fluctuate. It’s at its mildest in the mornings and after exercise in the afternoons. I am not familiar with the term “residual...

I Invented a Sound That Knocked Out My Tinnitus

Hi David, I recently came across your work and downloaded your Tinnitus Mix from the first post (was it from several years ago?). However, I'm unsure if I can wear headphones all night, even for one night, let alone 21. I've been experimenting with Notched Music using the AudioNotch.com...

From 10/10 “Suicide Tinnitus” to Periods of Almost Silence — Possible, But Not Without Some Effort

I have been taking Nicotinamide Riboside, two capsules per day of Thorne Supplements’ ‘ResveraCel,’ which contains Nicotinamide Riboside as well as Resveratrol and Quercetin. However, I am not aware of any side effects. What might they be?

Actual Long-Term Remission from Tinnitus Achieved

I’ve never heard of that possibility before. As for ALA, I don’t think 600 mg is a lot. The more I read, the more I believe it’s safe. Regarding Prednisone, yes, I had a bad experience with it. I retained so much water that I blew up like a balloon and ended up in the hospital. Never again!

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) for Tinnitus

I wish I could find something definitive about ALA. I'm continuing with all the other antioxidants, but ALA is powerful, and I want to feel confident about taking it. I know it helps with neuropathy, as I had foot surgery 18 months ago, and I think it has done wonders for my foot. But can it...

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) for Tinnitus

I’ve been on this antioxidant supplementation program for several months, which includes 1200 mg of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA). I think I’ve had some success in reducing the volume of my tinnitus. However, I keep hearing mixed messages about ALA, and I’m starting to have doubts about it...

Has Anyone Had Their Tinnitus Turn Into a High-Pitched Hissing?

Yes, but “hiss” isn’t quite the right word, nor is “ringing.” It’s more like the sound you might imagine if you could hear the power lines overhead—a very high-pitched electrical sound. It’s not in the ears but in the brain.

Tinnitus Gets Worse with NO2 Supplements

The NO/ONOO Cycle article confuses me, but I think it suggests that while nitric oxide (NO) can be beneficial, an excess of it can have negative effects. Tinnitus seems to occur when there is an imbalance, such as between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters. GABA and other neurochemicals...

Actual Long-Term Remission from Tinnitus Achieved

Sure, sorry for the delay—I've been ill but am just now getting back to normal. The product I've been taking is Thorne's ResveraCel, which is available directly from Thorne's website or on Amazon.com. I did read a report suggesting that Resveratrol itself is best taken every other day, but I...

Tinnitus Gets Worse from Vasodilators (Any Supplement, Food or Drug Causing Vasodilation)

Interesting. I came across a study on this website promoting a regimen of vitamins and antioxidants, including the vasodilators ALA and grapeseed extract, to reduce tinnitus volume by 14 dB. I don’t understand why increasing the intake of healthy antioxidants or enhancing blood flow to the...

Actual Long-Term Remission from Tinnitus Achieved

Well, I started taking ALA after it was recommended by a doctor following foot surgery. It helped my foot heal and definitely helps with neuropathy, so I have every reason to believe it is a powerful vasodilator. Regarding studies on Varenicline, thank you, but perhaps you missed the link that...
