hello friends. I just wanted to update you guys on my situation. Since i last was able to post i have had an MRI scan on my ears and brain and the very good news is that i do NOT have acoustic neuroma ! And my brain is fine . What a relief ! I still have the T BUT over the last couple of weeks...

Friends, for the last few days my tinnitus has gradually eased off! It has been so quiet for several hours each day that I can hardly tell it is there! Oh dear lord the relief! I cannot tell you how happy I am! I still get the odd hours where it rages but it is far better for now. I am so happy...

Hiya , ok i just had the MRI scan . Yes indeed it was very loud . The machine buzzed, banged and beeped very loudly for 8 minutes. I had a cage over my head and face and it was very claustraphobic . It had no effect on my T . Glad its over and now the long wait for results!

@Penate So sorry you are suffering Penate . I too am in T hell . It fills my workd 24/7 with no relief no hope of masking . It has put a stop to all my hobbies and taken the joy from my life. I keep hoping it will stop one day or that it will level out so i can habituate it. Dont give up hope...

I have TMJ and i get swelling and a lot of aching . Is a splint one of those gum shield type things? My dentist gave me one of those but it just hurts my teeth and i cannot wear it. My dentist did not seem to know anything about TMJ. Really . He just said the gaurd will protect me from teeth...

My worse tinnitus ear feels like there is something in it all the time and often hurts. Is this common? Cheers

@GregCA I totally agree Greg. For me there is no masking it or forgetting it EVER. T fills my world , it totally overwhelmes me . It deafens me almost.

@Martin69 Thanks so much Martin. It really does help to know I am not suffering alone. There are some remarkable people in this group . How i hate this affliction. Just lately it is 10/10 - 24/7 . Impossible to ignore or mask . Impossible to think for more than a few minutes .I want to scream...

Me too . I get that horrible feedback sound as if from a giant speaker or microphone at a rock concert. It hurts my ears. I find it very distressing. Worse than the hiss etc. Best of luck .
