A Year Later, I Don't Know What My Tinnitus Baseline Is

Update: I think I have a slight idea of what my baseline is, but the issue is that I cannot figure out how to stay at baseline. As I have mentioned, my tinnitus is extremely reactive and somatosensory. The problem is that I am a very tense person. Even the slightest stress causes all my...

I cannot WAIT to move out. Got woken up by someone vacuuming for the second time in the week. When it's not vacuums, it's alarms. I rarely have a full night of sleep; it's insane.

@Scruffiey probably just stress as I do not have (visible) hearing loss! I always thought my tmj damaged my nerve, but the tightening hypothesis makes much more sense

I get a tingling sensation from my cheekbone to above my lips when i'm exposed to too much sound. It's not painful but it's annoying. I used to get that when i was very stressed or when my tmj is very bad. Does anyone else have that?

Game Over? Worsening Reactive Tinnitus and Pain Hyperacusis with Severe Headaches

Have you been able to completely stop using protection at home? I am dealing with the exact same issue. My tinnitus has also improved a lot thanks to protection, but I would like to be free from it in my own house.

Sleep Architecture Disrupted in Tinnitus Sufferers

Does tinnitus itself affect REM sleep, or is it tinnitus-related anxiety that prevents a good night’s sleep? To add my two cents, ever since developing tinnitus, I’ve started waking up multiple times per night. I used to be a heavy sleeper despite having anxiety before acquiring tinnitus. Even...

A Year Later, I Don't Know What My Tinnitus Baseline Is

I relate to this a lot. I go through cycles lasting anywhere from two weeks to a month and a half. Last November, I had just a hiss for a full month—I felt like my struggle was over. Then one day, it started ramping up again. Over the past few days, it has doubled in intensity, and I have no...

A Year Later, I Don't Know What My Tinnitus Baseline Is

Hello everyone, It’s been one year since my tinnitus began, and unfortunately, I haven’t habituated yet because it changes every two months. I don’t react strongly to it anymore (except when I get brand-new sounds), but I can’t ignore it. It started as a very high-pitched ringing in February...

    Low Frequency Tinnitus

I also have lower-frequency tinnitus. In fact, all my tinnitus sounds are below 2000 Hz. In my case, the sound is localized to one ear only. In my right ear, I have a 500–600 Hz pipe-like sound, which I believe is due to TMJ. In my left ear, I sometimes get a hum when I overprotect.

Tinnitus Worse After Invisalign Treatment: What's Your Invisalign Experience?

Hello, Have you noticed any pressure in your jaw when you wear or remove your Invisalign? Do you find yourself clenching more while wearing it? I’m not a doctor, but tinnitus can sometimes be caused or worsened by jaw-related issues. I’m in a similar situation—though I have a retainer instead...

Tinnitus Surges to Extreme Levels Briefly Before Returning to Normal

As others have mentioned, it is most likely fleeting tinnitus. I’ve experienced quite a lot of those episodes over the past few months as well. It could also be related to your stress levels since tension in the neck can cause it.
