  • One month of daily nausea. I love suffering!
    Wrfortiscue
Sorry to hear that, do you know what's causing it?
    nocticolor
@Wrfortiscue My doctor says maybe it's helicobacter but she's still going to take a blood sample before ordering a gastroscopy. I think maybe it's GERD or something. I just had a plain cup of green tea and I immediately feel nauseous ‍♀️
    Wrfortiscue
Yeah I have gerd and get nauseated quite a bit, that's why I was interested lol. Elevate the bed and don't eat too late may help. I ate late two days ago and woke up with a sore throat and inflamed uvula from the burning
Those days where your T probably isn't significantly worse than usual and yet it's still harder to deal with than usual are bullshit.
    Steph1710
Yup! I absolutely know those days. I thought I was having a spike (before my actual spike) but really it was because I was super stressed and focusing on it more.
    nocticolor
@Steph1710 I feel you, I'm about to lose my shit lmfao
    Steph1710
I think this time it's an actual spike though lol. Stress has got my ears ringing!! That and some unnecessary noise trauma - yay!
Life's like a box of chocolates, except someone already ate all the good ones and you're left with the shitty ones no one else wanted.
    nocticolor
Hab mir gerade mal deinen Post durchgelesen.
    Damocles
T: becomes bearable. My brain: I see you're doing better! Would be a shame if your body randomly started twitching all over the place.
All in all my T has gone back to not being too bad lately but I've been having a lot of SBUTT lately and Idk if I should be worried :D
    kuromi
@nocticolor That's so great to hear! I think from what I've read on here SBUTT episodes are completely normal, and they shouldn't be any cause for concern.
    Damocles
You definitely shouldn't worry about this @nocticolor.

It doesn't matter if it's SBUTT or LBUTT or even DBUTT; ALL BUTT is good in my opinion!
    nocticolor
    @Damocles Now that's a mindset I can get behind!
Seems like my English friends are gonna have a quiet night after all... Lots of Italians where I live so I know I won't :D
    Steph1710
All my friends are upset, and I'm loving it. Haha!
    nocticolor
@Steph1710 I probably would've rooted for England if it wasn't for the fans, they sure didn't have any manners. Feel super bad for the players that are now racially abused on social media, though. Sports fans are a special kind of breed...
At this point I'll never be able to visit London again with how England's handling this pandemic lol
    I can't believe we're losing against England!
    Lurius
It wasn't Blitz Füssball this time, but I can at least rejoice in the memories from 2014.
    kuromi
I've lived in England all my life and I'm really fucking impressed we're winning haha.
    T
@kuromi I think we're more shocked to have won than the Germans are :P

I was sure we were going out. Although, knowing us we'll beat Germany but go out to Ukraine!
T has been behaving really well and I've been doing great—knock on wood—but school is stressing me out lately. I need a break :D
    Ilias T
    Habe schon alle Prüfungen durch
    nocticolor
@Ilias T Hab nächste Woche noch zwei Klausuren, dann bin ich durch. Und im August gehts endlich in den Urlaub!
Compared to last summer, my T doesn't compete with the sound of the fan anymore & is pretty much masked completely. Hope I'm not jinxing it.
It's way too hot right now to be living in a country with no A/C, I'm literally melting.
    ajc
What country has no A/C? I think you can buy an A/C in any country. They have portable units and split units available.
    nocticolor
@ajc Most buildings here do not have A/C, except for some supermarkets and drugstores. Getting a unit for my home doesn't change the fact that there's no A/C at work or at school.

When I lived in Mexico and Turkey neither had air conditioning. I'm not sure how I did it, other than I was younger. :)
Today was emotionally draining. Not sure if I feel like crying or sleeping for ten hours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    twa
@noticolor so sorry. Hope tomorrow is a better day.
    nocticolor
@twa Thank you! I hope you're doing better today as well <3
The static hiss never really lets up but man I'm wearing earplugs right now and my ringing is yet again nearly imperceptible. So weird.
    just1morething
@nocticolor, I seem better using Afrin plus an EarPopper
Why does Afrin work so well?
He explains that oxymetazoline (the active Afrin ingredient) actually works by mimicking adrenaline in your nose. It forces your nostrils open by squeezing the blood out of your nasal tissues. When you spray a shot of Afrin nasal spray into your nose, you will feel immediate relief from that awful congestion.
Told my ENT I'd like her to clean my ears manually instead of doing a microsuction and she agreed and was super understanding!
Just booked my trip to Barcelona in August—can't wait! Let's hope this pandemic isn't gonna mess with my plans.
How was my T barely perceptible in an almost quiet room last week and now it's substantially louder than usual since Sunday? I'm tired.

@Bill Bauer You've been giving me hope since day one. Whether it'll ever happen for me or not, it makes it easier for me to stay positive. Thank you!
    Keith Handy
I try to think of it like weather vs. seasons. Based on the change from one day to the next, you would never know if you were heading towards winter or summer. That's why you have to zoom way out to see if there's a trend.
"You've been registered here for 1 year, congratulations!" Not exactly a happy occasion but okay lmao
    kuromi
I've always thought the notifications for how long you're registered here for were a bit morbid, lol.
The only good thing about my T is that if we're ever back to normal after this pandemic I can use it as an excuse to not go clubbing lol
    Steph1710
Ha! Love it! I actually hate clubbing. Never enjoyed it.
    nocticolor
@Steph1710 Same! Love drinking and dancing from time to time, just not in some loud, crowded, overpriced club :D
    kuromi
I'm the exact same haha. Never went to a club in my life and now I don't have to! :D
First time I ever heard cicadas was in Greece. Thought 'Thank God we don't have them at home'. Joke's on me, now I have them in my head!
    Bill Bauer
I've had that exact experience with the cicadas in Hawaii! I also had to use masking sounds of cicadas.
    Steph1710
Haha! Yeah, funny cause I remember thinking a similar thing when I was in Greece.
The chirping birds noise is by far the worst lol hope it goes away again like it did last time
    Tezcatlipoca
same here, its been a week with one of my worst sounds, I really hope it goes away but im starting to lose hope
    Vassili
    Angry Birds!!! LOL
I love rainy days. If the rain's strong enough it pretty much masks all my noises and I get to experience a slither of silence.
    Tatsopa
Yeah same here but, even with no rain, my tinnitus is much less intrusive on cloudy days. I guess there's some kind of pressure "thing" going on.
Got woken up by a new annoying noise. Curiously enough, the static is almost entirely gone for the first half an hour or so after waking up.

    How are you doing, overall?
    nocticolor
@buttercake If I'm busy or outside I'm doing pretty good, thankfully. My original T from March last year has generally been pretty bearable, other than a few bad days here and there. Now the static I've been experiencing since this February I find much more difficult to handle, especially if it gets high-pitched. Doing my best to stay positive though. What about you?

@nocticolor during these days I am doing quite ok too, thanks for asking. I have a lot to do - teaching, studying for a course and writing a paper - so I do not think often about my tinnitus.
