  • My static is so quiet today compared to yesterday, when I had a couple of mental breakdowns due to it. Wish I knew what makes it fluctuate..

Enjoy the more calmer moments my friend

I wake up every day with this static, then the other sounds appear with the ambient noise that overlaps the static.
Original T very low again, with earplugs in. If it was daytime I probably wouldn't even hear it if I took earplugs out. Static unchanged.
I'm definitely pro vaccines but I'm also scared of this particular vaccine making my T worse or giving me new noises. Ugh.

Yeah, me too. The problem is that in this forum we read only of people whose tinnitus got worse... but I bet that from a statistical point of view they are an unfortunate minority

My tinnitus did not get any worse from Pfizer. Imo the fear of getting COVID and that making your tinnitus worse should be greater than the vaccine.
Holy shit, my original noise is about 85% down right now. I know it's not gonna last, but baffled that it can happen at all.

Anything is possible. Wishing you continued health and healing.

    Fingers crossed for you!

That's so kind of you, thank you! I hope we'll all get better with time.
Been taking much more care of my ears and as a reward I'm now getting noises in my once noiseless ear. What a joke.

Life's just a complete bitch sometimes. You can do whatever you can think to do and it hits you with curveballs regardless. With some luck this may just be a temporary occurrence.
    nocticolor
@Drachen I sure hope so! It's so frustrating that I've been dealing with my original as well as I could so this really is a blow to me...
Looking at older pictures or reminiscing with friends can be hard at times because all I think is, "Wow, I didn't have T back then."

The user @KMc24 wrote something very inspirational: "I would hold onto to memories of how I used to be, but I vowed not just get better, but better than before". This hit me quite strongly. I also would like to become better than before.
I miss only having noises in one ear, man.
    Steph1710
Same! Only used to be my left, but now it's both.
    nocticolor
@just1morething I'm definitely going to make an appointment with a TMJ specialist after I'm done with physical therapy. It's so frustrating to not know the cause. Maybe it's just hidden hearing loss but I literally have better heating than anyone around me so...
    nocticolor
@Steph1710 For me it used to be my right ear, now I have the static head noise and fleeting T in my left. It really is the gift that keeps on giving!
In retrospect, 90% of my problems before the onset of my T have been mostly irrelevant, not that it makes this any better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Have you experienced any fading?
    nocticolor
@Bill Bauer I've had some good days with the original noise in my right ear, although I'm not sure if that counts as fading. I know this doesn't have to mean anything but it's been pretty loud the past few days so I'm not feeling very optimistic lately :D
Love how fucking stupid the human brain is. Like bro, do you want me to take us both out or are you gonna calm down with the noises?
    just1morething
Sorry you are doing bad. My noise is bad too. Mayo Rochester didn't want to do anything with my TMJ but another surgeon in Illinois thinks my My left TMJ is bad enough to see him. Maybe you should look at having an MRI of your TMJ if you think its related to your noise.
    nocticolor
@just1morething It's not all that bad, I'm honestly just being a little whiny because it's that time of the month lol but I'm sorry to hear that you're not doing great. I hope the surgeon in Illinois is able to help you! I'm trying to see if physical therapy will help but I'm planning to see a specialist for TMJ just to check!
T was so low yesterday I couldn't hear it in a quiet room with opened windows. Today my regular noise is back, and at it's regular volume...
    Ilias T
I think my left ear got some impacted wax. Fluctuates more. Smh.

The fact that you experienced a low level once means you have everything to play for in regards to the future. You will succeed and overcome this, take heart!
    Bill Bauer
It never just turns off. You are on the right track, eventually you will get there.
Need a shirt that says "my best friend is pregnant and all I get is random new T noises". I'm sure someone out there could relate lmao
    Bill Bauer
Sounds like you are the lucky one.
    nocticolor
@Bill Bauer Hah :D Some days I feel that way, other times not so much. At least I can pester my best friend about protecting her kid's hearing in the future.
I usually prefer single player games anyway, but I miss the occasional multiplayer game. Giving up on headphones completely definitely sucks

@Charburchar Ohh I need to give LoL a try some time. Just put 250 hours into Cyberpunk 2077 so now I've moved on to Baldur's Gate 3 :D
    Charburchar
Nice! I remember playing Baldur's gate on my friends computer in primary school - must have been 18 odd years ago! LoL is really difficult at first because everyone's so good. But super fun once you get the hang of it. I'm rather addicted..
    nocticolor
@Charburchar That's neat! A friend recently got me into DnD so I thought I'd give Baldur's Gate a try. Not like you can do much else in this pandemic so this is the best time to be gaming I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I might have to check out some Let's Plays first so I don't embarrass myself then :D
Happy one year tinnitus anniversary to me. I have to laugh at past me thinking I'd be lucky enough to have my tinnitus resolve :D
    Steph1710
Those are obviously the main ones, but London is home to many awesome smaller museums too. I could take you on a tour of the darker, quirky side of London, and we could go to all the old little pubs that still exist.
Literally, southern Germany is the best. I've been to Stuttgard a few times, but only driving through. I usually take my van across. I can't tell you how jealous I am over where you live.
    nocticolor
@Steph1710 Yeah she's my favorite historical figure, though I love history in general and pubs so your suggestions sound great to me!

If you're coming to Germany definitely let me know as well. I'm
probably not the best guide but I know some nice spots :D
    nocticolor
Not gonna lie, I'm not great at appreciating what I have here sometimes because I love big cities and Stuttgart is often called a "large village" but I do love our vineyards!
Really ties this entire shit show together!

I did get an auriculotemporal injection in my left jaw yesterday. Was worse early on this morning, good now, knock on wood. I did sleep on a new firm bed too last night. I will update in a couple days.
    nocticolor
Have no idea where these new noises are coming from. I'm kinda hoping it's just a spike because I think I might be getting sick, but noise in my right ear was usually a bearable tone that was relatively easy to mask and now it's morphed into a very high pitched tone. Happy one year tinnitus anniversary to me I guess
Love the fact that in addition to the relatively new static I have new noises on top, in the ear that was perfectly fine.
    Ilias T
I'm 2 weeks spike free. I went from beeing a broken piece of blood sack to someone that improves. It's hard to see the improvement but, who else is going to help. I changed my diet from a sugar bomb to a balanced calorie intake from actual foods, no more gaming to eliminate the extra adrenaline, showering only at evenings when things are calm. My only problem now is sleep. Try to make a change for better days
