New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Saw that on Reddit too. Looks like it’s from August 2018 though.

Neuroinflammation Mediates Noise-Induced Synaptic Imbalance and Tinnitus in Rodent Models

Here's the link if anyone is interested. It's interesting research, but this is why justsayinmice exists.

Neuroinflammation Mediates Noise-Induced Synaptic Imbalance and Tinnitus in Rodent Models

Curcumin does cross the blood-brain barrier, but penetration is poor. There are several studies into curcumin and its anti-amyloid properties for Alzheimer's where availability in the brain is key. Researchers at UCLA (?) came up with a lipid-curcumin formulation patented as Longvida that...

    Vibration Sensation in Head

I started taking Flonase morning and night. I did have 5 good days in a row with low/no vibration last week, but I'm back to 'normal' now in that I can feel my tinnitus again so I'm not sure if that was just a coincidence or not. Maybe I'll try Nasonex. I found a bunch of other threads with...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I don't think customs would notice this device if brought back to the US. But you could always try the FDA expanded access route for non-FDA approved medical devices if you want to play it safe. Just need to get a sponsor physician and hope it gets approved...

Operation Regrow by Hearing Health Foundation

This is my preferred hearing non-profit to donate. I gave some money a few months back and got my company to match dollar for dollar. This isn't uncommon for companies to do so be sure to see if yours does as well.

    Vibration Sensation in Head

That's good to hear that yours calmed down. Was there anything in particular that you did that helped?

    Vibration Sensation in Head

I've seen this discussed in a a few other threads but wanted to describe my experience and see if anyone else has found any relief. It's a sensation that's hard to describe but generally feels like the top center of my head and temples are vibrating. Almost like a cell phone is being held to...

Vote for University of Michigan (Susan Shore) Tinnitus Research — Winner Gets a Write-Up

To me it looks like the 'vote again' button simply erases your votes so that you can vote for different candidates if you like. The vote total decreases by the exact number of votes I've cast if I hit 'vote again'. Someone also mentioned this a few pages back.

    Auris Medical AM-111

You have to click on the "Article as PDF" on the right to see the full study. Doesn't appear to be any more effective than placebo. You can see the rest of the results in the "efficacy outcomes" section. Looks like there were some improvements over placebo in other measures related to hearing...

    MuteButton

That's for a 510k submission, which is the quicker of the two routes for medical device FDA approval. 510k's are reserved for devices that are substantially similar to an existing approved device. The Neuromod device may require PMA approval since it is a novel treatment. The PMA process...

TIN-ACT: Research School for TINnitus Assessment, Causes and Treatments

Thanks for the great write up and keeping us all up to date. It's encouraging to hear more research resources being put into the causes of tinnitus. Very much looking forward to an update for the upcoming conference in May.

Episode 1: In Search of a Tinnitus Cure — Dr. Josef Rauschecker

Great interview and thanks to the Tinnitus Talk staff for taking the time to put this together. Dr. Rauschecker really highlights the woeful under funding and lack of recognition of tinnitus research. Sure there are a few big names who have received larger grants in recent years (Shore...

Putting Dr. Rauschecker on Joe Rogan

Jeff Karp has been on there to discuss this as well. Science Friday host Ira Flatow has tinnitus and hearing loss so these topics are especially interesting to him.

Putting Dr. Rauschecker on Joe Rogan

How about the Science Friday podcast? It plays to a national audience (NPR in the US) who's used to donating and they already had Dr. Shore on last year. It's also a good listen if you haven't heard it.
