If they would asked this question 20 years before you might have been right. But we already have retigabine. It works on almost every kind of tinnitus. This is huge. If we can lessen its side effects we will have an efficient treatment. And this is what we can call a "cure".

Good question. And I want to add some more to this. I had my T when I quited a benzo abruptly. Is this storm still going on or the damage is done? Why do some people get rid of their Ts after w/d and some not? Does this storm damage to hearing cells or neurotransmitters? I really do not know...
