If they would asked this question 20 years before you might have been right. But we already have retigabine. It works on almost every kind of tinnitus. This is huge. If we can lessen its side effects we will have an efficient treatment. And this is what we can call a "cure".

Ginsenoside is listed as effective in glutamate excitotoxicty. So this may help SSRI and benzos induced tinnitus. I'll start my "Mission Tinnitus" experiment with this one. I'll let you know all here.

It depends on what you understand from the word "cure". I think T will be cured like diabetics. As long as we take our drugs(such as Trobalt with no horrible side effects) we will be alright. In my opinion, this is a cure.

Yeah, as I said before "Who knows".. But it must be a huge coincidence that I got it when I quited this drug? I do know benzos are my real cause but I can not blame these drugs because I am the one went cold turkey. And of course, my doc never said not to do it.

I used it 8 months 1 mg per each night for sleep. If you take a look at Benzo Buddies you will see MANY and MANY of people got it even one single pill. Of course it differs from person to person but tinnitus is one of the most common w/d symptoms in Ashton Manual(It is like a Bible of benzos)...

Clonazepam is why I got my T I think but I really consider to take them until someone finds any safer treatments.

Hi All I have a question but I don't know if it is silly or not. As I do not know the real cause of my tinnitus, I'm also not sure if it is related to a damage to auditory nerve or hearing cells. So will it still be safe to take a part in that treatment without knowing the certain damage?

I also want to mention that as long as us sufferers keep saying "I'm habituated to my T, I can live with this" scientists will not attempt to find a cure or at least efficient treatments. I think this is also one of the reasons why we do not have one yet.
