Can We Really Habituate to Pulsatile Tinnitus?

I really appreciate this thread! It got me through a very bad time when I was experiencing pulsatile tinnitus while staying at someone's home, on a comfy cot. I think the fact that the cot and pillow were kind of thin contributed to being able to hear my heartbeat. I found out that if I used my...

    Tinnitus Onset After Tooth Extraction

Petrea, I hope you are feeling better! @Lane, I just bought an ozone machine from PromoLife yesterday, and I was wondering what experience you've had with it. I did just order the book you suggested, The Ozone Miracle. (y)

Warning: Ozone Therapy Flared My Tinnitus

Sorry to hear about your difficulty, @Goose. And thank you, @Lane, for weighing in. I just bought a set-up from PromoLife yesterday, and am hoping for the best. I'll try the nasal insufflation, for sure, as I've had some sinus issues for a while, and that's the main thing I was getting it for...

Catastrophic Tinnitus Worsening After 7 Years — Caused by a Kiss on the Ear

I love this reply, for the most part, and can relate to the OP, because I'm going through what seems like a catastrophic spike at the moment. I did just get five head X-rays for a sinus condition, but I'm not sure that's the cause. At any rate, I just wanted to warn people that taking Benadryl...

    Suicidal

I wanted to post when I was having a better day, to share that better days can be had, even in the midst of seemingly worsening tinnitus. I'm getting varying tones - in addition to the usual loud cicadas - in my right ear, and a sometimes noticeable solid noise in my left ear, and things seem...

    Suicidal

I am so sorry you feel so desperate. I can really relate, having extremely loud tinnitus, in addition to a bunch of other debilitating symptoms. I'm writing to say that it is possible to habituate even when your tinnitus is very loud. I don't know how long you've had it, but I've had mine for a...

    Suicidal

Sorry you're going through so much! I just wanted to say "hi" and maybe give some hope. What's happening with me is that it is loud, still, but it is so pervasive that it's becoming like background noise. I forget about it at times. I remind myself that it's not actually harming me in any way...

    Suicidal

So sorry you're going through this, Pete. I get spikes throughout the day for, usually, no reason. Also, in response to eating, it seems. What's helping me now is keeping as busy as possible, including work, cleaning, talking with others or watching TV. Hope you get some relief soon! :huganimation:

I don't know if this is going to be helpful. I always say I'll come here if I get better with this louder tinnitus (can hear it over most things). Well, it's gotten to where I can go quite a while not even noticing it. So, there's that. It's so loud and constant that I didn't believe that...

Bad Somatic Tinnitus Spike from Jaw Modulations

So sorry you're going through this. I just don't know what to say, because, as usual, I'm also having more stuff added to an already full plate. Because I've seen how this is seemingly going to go on, I've decided to first volunteer, then got a job at the volunteer place. I just hope I can work...

I'm so sorry you're suffering this way. Do you have any books on tinnitus? Maybe you could find something helpful there, if you do. I've bought a few, and when it gets really bad, it's helpful to at least know I could look in one of them. I know that sounds weird, but, what happens is, I seem...

    Low-Dose Nortriptyline for Tinnitus?

Mine's kind of like that. Also, pressure-y, which makes it worse. Hope we all get some relief soon!

    Low-Dose Nortriptyline for Tinnitus?

Great that it worked for you! But what is "head tinnitus," if you don't mind my asking?

I'm so sorry for everyone's suffering. I haunt this thread sometimes when the t, and/or some other symptoms, which make the t more problematic, get beyond the ken. I wanted to come back when I had something positive to share, to perhaps give someone hope for the future, but that wasn't the...
