Having first real episode since FESS (almost 1 year post op) muffled hearing, loud tinnitus and high pitched squeaking over sounds

I had my first shot of AstraZeneca on Monday, I have fever at 39c, nausea, shivers, aching and generally feeling unwell. Tinnitus does seem more prominent (not louder, just prominent) but not sure if that’s just because I’m at home in bed and not at work so I’m listening to it more!

I had terrible dysacusis on and off for about a year. Found that one of my sinuses was severely diseased and since having the FESS surgery in Oct 2020 I haven’t experienced it as intensely again. I still get little bouts where it feels like my ear's a bit blocked up but nothing like before...

Hi! How are you now? I had FESS (middle meatal antrostomy) on the 27th October! Found my tinnitus soooo quiet for a week, then got an infection and it came back with a vengeance!

There’s a very high chance you are only experiencing the ringing as a result of your ear infection. Try not to worry too much & get lots of rest :-)

FESS done, T was SUPER quiet for about a week and a half. Now having a post op infection got pain, can’t hear and T is LOUD !

Hi @mrbrightside614 I had my surgery on Tuesday! Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I had a middle meatal antrostomy in the end. The post surgery pain isn’t great but keeping on top of it with regular pain meds.

16 days til FESS

I get the distortion really bad sometimes. After a CT scan it was found I had really diseased sinuses on that side and when they were really infected my tinnitus/distortion would go through the roof. Maybe worth getting a scan done to rule it out! X
