Share Your Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccine Experience: Any Impact on Your Tinnitus or Hyperacusis?

I had my first shot of AstraZeneca on Monday, I have fever at 39c, nausea, shivers, aching and generally feeling unwell. Tinnitus does seem more prominent (not louder, just prominent) but not sure if that’s just because I’m at home in bed and not at work so I’m listening to it more!

Do You Know People Whose Dysacusis Improved or Got Cured?

I had terrible dysacusis on and off for about a year. Found that one of my sinuses was severely diseased and since having the FESS surgery in Oct 2020 I haven’t experienced it as intensely again. I still get little bouts where it feels like my ear's a bit blocked up but nothing like before...

Tinnitus Worse After Endoscopic Surgery (Clearing Sinuses, Septoplasty, Turbinate Reduction)

That’s so good that you get a follow up appointment! Where are you from? And did you have to pay for this surgery? I’m ok, tinnitus varies a lot- it’s a hiss right now. My ear pops all the time which leads me to believe something has changed. I’m just really bunged up all the time! When I spoke...

Tinnitus from Fluid Being Trapped in Eustachian Tube?

I have all of those too and I was found to have severe sinus disease and had to have FESS at the end of October there. Tinnitus was super quiet for a week after surgery but came back on when I had an infection and has been up & down since depending on how I’m feeling - still early days for...

Tinnitus Worse After Endoscopic Surgery (Clearing Sinuses, Septoplasty, Turbinate Reduction)

Do you know, I feel exactly the same! Maybe the fact that we are both suffering with it means this is a normal part of the process? My doctor has said to me not to expect to feel healed until 3 months post op! My packing dissolved and came out bit by bit (the first time it happened I sneezed...

Has Anyone Had Distortion/Reactive Tinnitus Go Completely Away?

I get the distortion really bad sometimes. After a CT scan it was found I had really diseased sinuses on that side and when they were really infected my tinnitus/distortion would go through the roof. Maybe worth getting a scan done to rule it out! X

Are There Any Success Stories for Moderate-Severe Dysacusis?

I get distortion from time to time and I have severe sinus disease on the side that gets it. Do your ears pop? Mine won’t at all when I get the echoing and it’s apparently something to do with my Eustachian tube. Some over the counter decongestant and heat usually helps :-)

Tinnitus and Chronic Rhinitis — Reviews on Vogel's Plantago?

I’m waiting for FESS surgery at the moment and this didn’t help me, it wouldn’t go out the other nostril  The only thing that helps me when it’s bad is Sudafed. Hearing Lingering Hiss After Congestion

Hi @James Foley I suffer badly with sinus/ETD and I get that hiss often! Usually towards the end of an episode, like you Sudafed seems to really relieve it. I use a humidifier at night & a microwaveable wheat bag to ease it as well. I think it’s just a waiting game to be honest!

@UrbanBubblegum I am a long time Fexofenadine user. I usually only take it in hayfever months but I have been taking it continuously since October on the advice of ENT whilst I await allergy tests/sinus surgery! It helps my tinnitus if anything because I’m not as congested :-)
