Had some forceful coughing last few days (not COVD-19, just some reflux). After some particularly forceful coughing, my less affected ear now has fullness, pressure, itching, pain, and a little tinnitus. A bit terrified that I gave myself barotrauma to my good ear. Anybody ever experience...

Correct. It's the absence of the tinnitus for that microsecond. I wonder if whatever physiological phenomenon causes that second of absence can be replicated... perhaps some sort of electrical impulse in the inner ear? Has there been any current research in this area?

None of them. The papers talking about inner ear implants that seem to (successfully, if I recall) suppress tinnitus via electrical stimulation of deafferentated neurons (for which there is, inexplicably, no follow up or current research that I have noticed) is where all energy should be aimed...

Does anyone else have this? Every now and then, I get a "reset". In pre-tinnitus days, it used to be a momentary sudden ring that slowly went away in seconds with a linear drop in volume. Had it once a month or two for my whole life. Now, the same sensation, except reversed. For a hundredth...

I myself am trying to find a career path that I can live with, or that my tinnitus can live with. I don't know when I will be able to return to my previous career. For some of you with experience in content creation, writing, web programming and such, remote and at-home jobs are plentiful...

Accidentally partially held in a sneeze, so that some of the pressure went back into the ears. Couldn't help it. Now have ringing, fullness, and pain...just when things were seeming hopeful. Has anyone ever had a permanent spike from this?

Basically... we've all been there, a truck is passing by, so you totally occlude your canals with your hand over your ears and push HARD. I did this too hard I think, and my ear seemed to feel weird. Is it possible to case barotrauma (and permanent damage) like that? A search of Tinnitus Talk...

People keep repeating that, but I have searched, and searched, and searched, and searched, and can find absolutely no reputable jobs in proofreading, and no copywriting jobs except for those with many, many years of solid journalism or corporate writing experience. And I'm near a major city...

Are you absolutely, 100% sure that Buspar caused your tinnitus? Was this temporary?
