  • Went to the sauna last night and after I got home my tinnitus calmed all the way down. Anyone else experience this?
Has anyone actually had the vagus nerve stimulated and seen improvement? I've seen there's a surgery but has it actually helped anyone?
Reddit does not have the answers. I get annoyed when I see people talk about their T and the response is always, "Look at Reddit!"

@threefirefour I haven't seen that yet. It's so annoying; I think the YouTuber Jacksepticeye talked about his tinnitus but of course the internet was like,
"Here try this :) do this! Oh you have that? Why didn't you do this?"
He handled it better than I would have, I get annoyed when I see stuff like that, like stop it's not like a magic button come on

I need to join in here.
I get so F***ing pissed off when lightweight TT members say - try not to worry - it gets better and better and you will find you can do more and more, and soon be back to normal.
    I could "SCREAM !!!!!"

@Jazzer I mean, yes and no. Like I agree it does suck and sometimes I feel like my brain is melting but I think it does get better, some days when it's really bad I think "well what other choice do I have?" and i am able to ignore it. But that's just me.
been pretty manageable lately. Hopefully stays that way!

That's interesting! Can you provide us with details of when you started noticing improvements and if you've always taken care of yourself or not? Congratulations btw!!

@Bill Bauer yes, 3 years. I think after a year I really started taking control of my life. It's been the same since day 1 but I made efforts to keep myself happy.
I will say that recently, I went to a club and stupidly didn't wear earplugs (as I usually do) and my hearing/ T got worse. However, it's been somehow just getting better but I'm at a mental state where it doesn't bother me as much anymore :)

@Striveon Well, I don't know when exactly but after my recent flare-up, I don't hear the new noise (if that makes sense) it's back to my familiar sounds. Also, I've been having quiet days as well where I can't hear it at all until night time. So it's getting back to 'normal' but I haven't really done anything just been patient and focusing on myself. Sorry, I can't be more help than that!

I think if I watched his video when I first got my tinnitus I would have harmed myself out of paranoia and desperation.
This can be said for many people all throughout the world. Also it shifts blame away from real things like hearing loss and otoxicity - which can be prevented in many more cases than none.
    Ricardo1991
I found his channel to be harmful, the fact that he randomly commented on my video says a lot about what they're trying to do. (or at least it's implied to me.)
    Ricardo1991
But thank you for liking my video @PDodge haha I will try and make more positive sounds soon, just finding the time lol
Anybody here drink port/ sherry? Just bought some Oloroso, can't wait to break into that baby! (too much for a monday? ;) )
    D
rarely drink, but if and when I do, Port is my absolute favourite. A good bottle is so delicious and enjoyable. Enjoy Ricardo, I hope every drop is a pleasure, happy for you

Let's say Neuromod works, I will continue to wear earplugs wherever I can for the rest of my life. Not worth going through this again haha
As neuromod claims that their device feels like popping candy. I went out and bought some haha feels funny, but also calms my tinnitus haha
    Ricardo1991
definitely do not claim that it's comparable to the device just thought I'd do something fun haha
    Bob den Hartog
Just as well getting used to the feeling!
    Ricardo1991
@Bob den Hartog, lol ya I guess so! I just thought I haven't eaten any in a long time so I thought I'd eat some lol
My tinnitus is much quieter today, just enjoying the "silence" just listening to radio and working :)
    S
Any reasons it's quiet today? Or just luck?
    Ricardo1991
@Striveon just luck, I never know when anything will ever change I just roll with it. I never actually really do anything aside from mask it.
Went to a club recently and (stupidly) didn't wear ear protection after 3 years and my T has been worse. Been beating myself up BUT i'm ok.
    Ricardo1991
I'm better equipped at handling my tinnitus so I will be okay, this is just a learning lesson and just going to wait out the new sounds until I get better mentally.
Hello everyone! I hope you're doing great! I know this is hard but all we can do is keep going. Sending you love.
how long did it take you to get used to your T?
    Ricardo1991
@dpdx yes and no. I think it is the same volume however my brain doesn't perceive it as much so it's kind of like the volume has gone down.

@Ricardo1991 Hello, my friend Ricardo. I see that you are very optimistic. It's great! Tell me, is your noise not too intrusive? Do you hear it on the street or with the TV on? As a result, did you have tinnitus? Is your hearing in order on the audiogram?
    Ricardo1991
@IvanRus It is definitely loud enough to where I hear it pretty much everywhere. If I am on a bus, I hear it, fans, past everything. However, it has become part of my daily life, I don't really allow it to bother me anymore. So ya, I gotta stay optimistic! haha
I have tinnitus and I'm okay.
    Zora
Thats great. Why do you think you are okay? Like whats your "secret" to deal with it?
    Ricardo1991
@Zora well, I just feel okay. I don't want it to get to me and control my life so I am just okay. I suppose I accepted the fact it's there and sort of moved on. I can't really say what I did to make it okay for me I just did everything that made me happy and I just coped.
