    Then its actually much more likely to get hyperacusis than winning the lottery (correct 6 out of 49). I think this is something like 1:14,000,000.

    Trying and failing to make regular people (friends, family, etc.) understand what tinnitus and hyperacusis are like.

    Tell them to strap an active fire alarm to each ear, and that they're not allowed to remove either of them for at least 12 months.
