Ciloxan (0.3% Ciprofloxacin) Ear Drops Spiking Tinnitus Even After Stopping Course

My tinnitus has been getting incrementally and progressively worse every day or 2 for the past 7 weeks since stopping the Cipro ear drops. I don’t know why?!

Ciloxan (0.3% Ciprofloxacin) Ear Drops Spiking Tinnitus Even After Stopping Course

Hi there. It was an outer ear infection, that the doctor said required Ciloxan (Cipro) ear drops to resolve. I had no issues from the ear infection itself, and there was not even pain or inflammation, though the discharge required those ear drops to resolve it. The issues have begun...

Ciloxan (0.3% Ciprofloxacin) Ear Drops Spiking Tinnitus Even After Stopping Course

Anyone have any thoughts on this? My tinnitus got much worse since writing this yesterday ☹️ Could it be possible my ear has absorbed some of the Cipro antibiotic drops, and also it is now slowly absorbing into my skin every day?

Ciloxan (0.3% Ciprofloxacin) Ear Drops Spiking Tinnitus Even After Stopping Course

Hi all, I had an ear infection in December and took a 10-day course of Ciloxan ear drops (these contain 0.3% Ciprofloxacin). For most of the course I had no worsening of tinnitus, and I thought I was ‘safe’ from any spikes etc. However, during the last day or two of the course I noticed my...

Otomize Ear Spray Has Made My Tinnitus Much Worse — I'm Very Scared

Hi there, did you tinnitus recover/improve some time after stopping the drops? I’m currently taking Otomize for an infection, and I’m considering stopping the course if the increased tinnitus is permanent. Thank you.

Permanent Increase in Tinnitus After Using Neomycin Ear Drops for 5 Days

Hi there, did you tinnitus spike recover some time after stopping the ear drops containing Neomycin? I’ve been taking the same drops (Otomize), and I feel like they may be causing a small increase in tinnitus with every spray. I also have no holes in eardrum. Would be interesting to hear if...

Bad Spike Not Subsiding After Loud Bar — Despite Wearing Properly Inserted Earplugs

I think so. My tinnitus generally seems to improve after a number of weeks/months from a spike. However, over the years my tinnitus does seem to gradually get worse little by little. So I presume that means all these spikes get mostly better, but some leave a small mark. Also, I get so many...

Bad Spike Not Subsiding After Loud Bar — Despite Wearing Properly Inserted Earplugs

Anyone else have any thoughts as to if my latest spike could improve to near pre-spike levels or not? 85-88 dB 3 hours with earplugs does not seem excessive to me.

Bad Spike Not Subsiding After Loud Bar — Despite Wearing Properly Inserted Earplugs

Thanks for your reply, I rarely go to places like this - haven’t for a few years. I’ll be back to wearing my silicone mouldable earplugs from now on for sure. I hope it gets better.

Bad Spike Not Subsiding After Loud Bar — Despite Wearing Properly Inserted Earplugs

Hi guys, I haven’t been here for a long while, as mainly I’ve been dealing with my tinnitus very well and living my life. Unfortunately 14 days ago that seems to have changed after I went to work drinks at an outside bar. For 3 hours I was sitting roughly 4 meters from a speaker that played...

Banged Forehead Against Cupboard — Big Tinnitus Spike

Does anybody else have any input in this? I have some new more intense tinnitus sounds, and also more sensitivity to noise. Will the sensitivity to noise (hyperacusis) get better following banging my head? It did go away years ago when I got noise exposure related tinnitus, though I don’t know...

Banged Forehead Against Cupboard — Big Tinnitus Spike

Thank you @Ylva :-) Ah yes, I remember that spike! It's hard to say how long it took to recede, as other subsequent spikes tend to get in the way. I'd say gradually over a few months. It definitely improved, and even if I didn't have 100% improvement, the positive thing I always try to remember...

Banged Forehead Against Cupboard — Big Tinnitus Spike

Thank you @glynis :-) I have told myself that. I think that reading internet articles about tinnitus from head bangs makes me immediately go to the worst case scenario. I'll give myself some time to try and let it relax itself. Have a nice day.
