@linearb just wanted to say it is encouraging for you to say that within this time frame (the first few months I am assuming) it is likely that tinnitus will improve. I am one month into this and looking for all the hopeful posts I can find!

In my opinion it is the cold. Colds cause an inflammation of the sinuses which can put pressure on Eustachian tube. It can take several weeks for the tinnitus increase to subside. I would try to relax though because in my opinion this is only a temporary increase that will subside within a few weeks

Personally I am still only one month into the tinnitus so I am still hoping it will go away or at least reduce to barely audible levels. Time will tell

@RudyL90 thanks for your thoughts. It's encouraging to know that your friend had it completely dissipate after four months. As you said tinnitus is unpredictable and it's best to not constantly monitor it. Obviously, I break that rule occasionally but I try my best to not worry about it...
