Can Earbuds at Low Volume Still Damage Hearing Because of the Close Proximity to Eardrum?

If it wasn't caused by sound and you aren't wearing massive, heavy headphones that might strain your neck, I don't see why not if you keep the volume reasonable.

Loss of Feeling in the Inner Ear, Side of Head or Face Along with My Tinnitus

I’m assuming you slept at some point last night and since sleeping basically has the same effect as turning a device off and back on, how do you feel? Has the twitching subsided?

Loss of Feeling in the Inner Ear, Side of Head or Face Along with My Tinnitus

Well, if you're sure it isn't life-threatening and the only new symptom is the twitching, I guess you could just wait a little and see if it subsides and if it doesn't, go to the doctor.

    Guys, Any Words on Encouragement?

Well, I like to think it could be worse and I'm glad tinnitus is not life-threatening. Whenever I really hear it or I start to worry about it, I think that I know it can't actually hurt me, so I'm less bothered by it.

Loss of Feeling in the Inner Ear, Side of Head or Face Along with My Tinnitus

Circulation problems can totally cause tinnitus and numbness if not enough blood can get to the ears. Does the outside part feel cold to the touch?

Can Earbuds at Low Volume Still Damage Hearing Because of the Close Proximity to Eardrum?

I always listen to music only 1-3 little squares on my phone, so volume isn't really my main question about the safety of earbuds with regards to tinnitus and hearing damage, it's more the closeness of the earbuds to your eardrum. I've always used Skullcandy earbuds with the little squishy...

Loss of Feeling in the Inner Ear, Side of Head or Face Along with My Tinnitus

That's kinda scary and it's not just tinnitus. Have you gone to the doctor about it? Is there muscle weakness like in a lopsided smile or if you scrunch your eyebrows do they scrunch equally? Did this just happen or has it been around for a while? If it occurred suddenly it could have been a...

Which Tinnitus Frequency Do You Think Is the Easiest to Deal with?

I think the high pitched ones are the easiest to ignore because I know it's my own head noise. If it's low, I can't tell if it's from the environment or not and it really bothers me.

Is My Tinnitus Getting Better? Can It Get Better?

I think I have good news. My tinnitus is practically nonexistent during the day unless I really search for it, even in silence as long as I don't stay for too long. I can't tell if I've just gotten used to it or if it's gone away. Should I even worry? I'm happy, but keep thinking about whether...

I play the harp and live a quiet existence. I've never even been to a concert. Where did I go wrong? I'm not even that old! Why me?

My Tinnitus Is Getting Worse — I Can't Function — How Do You Cope? Will the Anxiety Ever Fade?

There's not much they can do for it if there is damage to the inner ear or something, but they can tell you if it is caused by something fixable like impacted earwax or something. Testing your hearing is important because you need to know if your actual hearing is affected by the tinnitus...

My Tinnitus Is Getting Worse — I Can't Function — How Do You Cope? Will the Anxiety Ever Fade?

I find mine basically nonexistent. Sometimes I hear an outside tone and worry that it's my T changing, and that makes me think about it and then it gets louder, but eventually I stop thinking about it again. Maybe try therapy or other techniques to manage your mental health and the T will follow.

My Tinnitus Is Getting Worse — I Can't Function — How Do You Cope? Will the Anxiety Ever Fade?

Even if it doesn't get better, you can't freak out forever. Eventually your body will tire itself out and it will think about other things than tinnitus and the possibility of it getting worse. I didn't sleep for a couple weeks and freaked out about it nearly every day for a while worrying if it...

    Is This Head Tinnitus?

What makes head tinnitus different than any other tinnitus? I thought it was all basically in the head due to unnecessary activation of the auditory cortex?
