  • If i didnt have bad luck i'd have no luck at all. Rock hit windsceen of car and made my good ear ring for a second or 2. Really give up.
Lorazepam took all my horrible ear symptoms right down. Tingling and aching are almost non existant. I know this isn't a long term solution.
Stopped Tegretol and ache and pains came back. Started back on Tegretol and I feel like I can manage again.... It can't be coincidence
Constant jaw ache all day.... Feels like I've been punched in the face. What the he is going on :(
4 Months in. Still have jaw pain and face ache. Still have fullness. Still mega depressed. Not sure when the nightmare will end
@ShaunR if it's any comfort I no longer get ear pain, just ache and sensitivity. Symptoms have been since early May. Ear flutter less too.

Thanks Andy it is a comfort. I struggle every single day with this. Its affected every aspect of my life
Burning pain hasn't resurfaced for a week now. Just left with some weird sensation/ sensitivity and jaw ache.
Sorry for not getting back to you on the other post, @ShaunR . My TTTs pain, as I put words in the mouth of yet another ENT, manifests in an irritated Trigeminal Nerve or the Stapedius / Tympanic Muscles overworking. Or it is referred pain from a neck nerve or C1 and C2 vertebrae. I don't get any pain from noise. I am so sorry to hear of your suffering of this vile affliction. Stay strong, brother
Turns out I have a hearing loss! Either happened recently or I've slowly lost it over the past 10 years.
Ear defenders all the time now. It's the only way I'm not In constant pain. Feels like life is over.

If you protect your ears, after a year or two you will become more resilient and won't need to protect your ears.
    S
Thanks @Bill Bauer yer that's what I do now for pretty much everything over 70db. I don't watch TV or listen to music anymore
    Bill Bauer
If a noise is under 70 dB and it doesn't feel right, you might consider avoiding it too. That has been my policy, and I am happy with the results.
@serendipity1996 Hi I was wondering what your progress has been and time frame? Did you have burning? Did it go away?
    S
I had burning pain for the first 3 months which gradually went away but I still had facial/trigeminal numbness and irritation for a while - it's mostly gone now at 8 months in. Not completely back to normal yet but better!
    S
@serendipity1996 Thank you. I keep holding onto hope everyday. I hope you continue to improve.
Shaun, trust me, i've been there too, many of us on this forum. I had burning ears, tighness and wierd sensations in the ears too (severe acoustic trauma). You will improve, but will have setbacks. It takes time for your ears to heal. I'm in for about 30 months now with severe T and H and just had I minor setback again after about 9 months. In the beginning time frames were much shorter and setbacks were worse.

@Midas Thank you means a lot to hear that. I almost gave up on life.... You've renewed my hope. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me... You don't know how much it means to me.

I second @Midas. It does take time, longer for some shorter for other. Protect your ears and take each day as it comes. I hope things work out for you.
    S
@Charburchar Thank you. I'm only 2 months in and no real sign of improvement. Hoping this gets better as time goes on.
hi, Shaun, sorry you have to go through this. Hang in there. Give yours ears enough rest and build up sound exposure slowly. It will get better.
    S
@Midas Thank you I pray your right. Everyday is torture. Sounds do not sound too loud they just cause me delayed aching, awful burning and tightness. Today has been the worst day of my life. I actually planned suicide but my fiance stopped me doing anything stupid. I've just got some tegretol to try and right now feel quite sedated.
I can't take anymore of this H.. Tingling burning...... . Aching...... I can't wait for it to go away
Walked round shopping centre today with no weird ear feelings and no plug. Just a bit of fullness. Let's see if H bites me later
    Bill Bauer
The fact that you are doing those experiments, and taking a risk that your experiment backfires seems to imply that your T hasn't been bothering you enough to convince you to not take any risks. Let's hope that you get lucky. Then again, if you keep taking chances, there's a good chance that eventually your luck will run out.
    S
@Bill Bauer I don't have a problem with T :) My moderate T hasn't bothered me in about 15 years. H is my problem now. I'm not even convinced that's what I have seems I have constant face pain regardless of noise. The shopping centre was quiet as there was no one really about. If it is H surely I shouldn't be over protecting anyway.
A day laid In bed in silence. No ear pain no fullness no burning. Just jaw ache now but ive got up. Anyone up for going half on desert island
Can't stop constantly monitoring my ear. I think this is exacerbating the fullness and odd sensation :(
@Orions Pain Going through an incredibly tough time myself. Everyday is one struggle from beginning to end. Keep on fighting!
    O
I'm sorry you're also dealing with this :/ it's very hard but I refuse to give up when potential treatment is so close
    S
@Orions Pain I'm glad to hear your fighting the good fight :) I'm on this site daily now looking for hope.... Even if it takes years I'm determined to feel OK again. I hope you heal :)
    O
Same for you! I was in the same boat when this first started, this site is very helpful. Hoping either with time we all heal or FX-322 comes to our rescue!
