Immunological and Antigenic Signatures Associated with Chronic Illnesses, Including Tinnitus, After COVID-19 Vaccination

A new article has been posted on post-COVID vaccine syndrome. It states that symptoms can include tinnitus, dizziness, vertigo, and brain fog. Those of us who developed tinnitus after our vaccines should feel a little vindicated. Here's The New York Times article describing it: Scientists...

NeuroMed Tinnitus Program — Founded by Dr. Hamid Djalilian

Maybe I missed it earlier in this thread, but here's a link to Dr. Djalilian's paper on migraine treatments for tinnitus. It shows "significant" improvements for both treatment protocols, but they don't look (to me) to be a whole lot better than the placebo. :-(

Intermittent Tinnitus Switched On/Off By Sleep

I experience the same thing. For the first seven months, my tinnitus followed a very strict three-day pattern: one loud day followed by two quiet days. Now, 14 months in, I sometimes get three or even four quiet days in a row, and the loud days are usually not as intense as they were at the...

Musician with Reactive Tinnitus and High-Frequency Sensitivity from COVID-19

I developed tinnitus after a COVID-19 booster; seems like it might have been because of the inflammation resulting from the vaccine, but who knows? I play the piano and also have plenty of sound sensitivity now. I've found it very helpful to keep a pair of "musician's earplugs" by the piano; I...

Tinnitus Caused by Ototoxicity from Gabapentin — the Inconsistency, "Ear Jumping", and Trigger-Fear Has Me Paralyzed

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My tinnitus started about 14 months ago, and in the beginning, I tried researching everything; reading papers, trying supplements, and experimenting with different sleep regimens. I even consulted three different ENTs. Unfortunately, none of it seemed to...

OTO App for Managing Tinnitus — Post Your Experiences and Reviews

That's for the "personalized attention" version of the app, right? I think the app itself (with CBT exercises, etc...) is just $10/month. I went through the whole app when I first had tinnitus. It helped me to calm down some, but really, Mirtazapine was more helpful to me for sleep than all the...

Research's Attempt to Objectively Assess Tinnitus

I think we all knew their conclusion intuitively (that tinnitus arising from different causes can have different characteristics), but it's nice to see someone study it systematically. Thanks for posting.

No Hearing Damage, No Loud Noise Exposure — My Tinnitus Started Out of the Blue

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My tinnitus also started out of nowhere about a year ago. I don’t have any obvious hearing loss, although they only tested up to 8000 Hz, and my tinnitus is around 9200 Hz, so I might have some hearing damage in the higher frequencies where they don’t...

    2024 US Presidential Election

Wow. Where are you getting your information? Let me guess—Fox News? I can’t get over the craziness of this. It’s incredible that you would rather vote for a lying, cheating, cowardly conman like Trump than a hard-working, intelligent woman with a strong history of public service. But I’m...

Looks Like I've Joined the Club — Tinnitus Onset After Exercise

I'm so sorry you've joined this club. Like you, my tinnitus came out of nowhere and was accompanied by muffled hearing. My hearing returned to mostly normal after a couple of weeks, but the tinnitus remained. Mine has been intermittent from the start—one loud day followed by two quiet or even...

Bad days continue to get less loud... now maybe 4-5. Hope this keeps up.

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

This has been my experience, too. Clonazepam supposedly lowers the loudness of tinnitus for most people -- I guess you and I are among the unlucky few it doesn't work for. Do you find Alprazolam lowers tinnitus loudness?

From Hidden Hearing Loss to Supranormal Auditory Processing by Increasing Neurotrophin 3

The paper is from June 2024, so hot off the presses. And yes, an impressive list of authors.
