Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@Mellow7 It’s called QuickSplint. I think they have to be given by a doctor. They do have a website if you want to look into it. I’ve been wearing it 24/7 (unless eating, talking or running errands) and my jaw feels so much better. By the end of the day the pain has come back but it’s so much...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@kelpiemsp Thanks! I’ve been on it for 2 weeks already. My opening was 24mm. It feels so much better after only wearing a temporary splint for 1 night. My neck pain is gone!

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@housemzk My jaw and face feel so much better after only wearing the temporary splint last night. It’s unbelievable. I’m so excited to get the real splints now! The neck pain I was having is completely gone. She did mention that. We’ll see how it goes. I’m just thrilled to be feeling...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@Mellow7 I can’t believe you have to wait that long just to get the impressions! Can you get in with someone else before then? That’s crazy. I wore the temporary splint last night and too the muscle relaxer last night and my pain is reduced by at least half. My aw feels so much better...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@Mellow7 Have you had a hearing test and the pressure checked in your ears? All mine are normal. I have the pressure and congestion in my ears too. It does equalize when I yawn but i discourage this as it can inflame and bother your jaw. My t changes too. Not morse code but it isn’t really...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@kelpiemsp and @housemzk Hey guys. Just an update. My hearing test and pressure were normal at my ENT visit. The doctor referred me to a tmj specialist and even called and got me in the next day (today) as it was acute. She did the most through diagnosis I’ve been involved in. She spent a...

Successfully Turned Tinnitus Off with Sleep Control

@Jazzer How much melatonin do you take? It has zero effect on me unless I take 20mg or so. Like absolutely none. I tried different doses years ago and it didn’t work before the t. Tried again after t and I don’t even feel mildly relaxed until at least 20mg.

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@kelpiemsp You are so lucky to have that university nearby! That’s awesome. I know what you mean. I attended a pool birthday party for the littles and tried wearing earplugs but was unable to have a conversation. Something I never would have thought of before. I’m going to stick it out with my...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@housemzk Well I was given temazepam as my “muscle relaxer”. I’m taking them at bedtime right now (maybe about 5 nights in a row) but it’s a benzo so I’m going to talk to the ENT on Wed about trying something else. I’d like to try amitriptyline as it’s used as an anti depressant and a sedative...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@kelpiemsp Are you wearing a night guard? Or were you given the splints and just decided to go the pt route?

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@housemzk Ok thanks. I was on prednisone for 12 days at onset. I actually just ordered turmeric curcumin. Do you take anything for pain or anxiety? We are healthy and active although it seems like anything I do hurts right now. My gp prescribed temazepam at bedtime but I’d really like to not...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@housemzk Thanks so much for those exercises! I’m sure they certainly apply to me as well. I’m glad your t and pain seems to be diminishing. I’ve been reading about noised induced t on this site and it looks like it can improve and be eliminated in time. I took a rx anti inflammatory for a few...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@kelpiemsp Also, did they give you any kind of timeline to expect results. I know these things take time.

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@kelpiemsp Wow! That’s crazy. You would think a specialist would get that right. Is the university you are going to a dental school? I actually have one of those nearby but I’m not sure if they treat tmj. I’ll have to call and check. That’s great about your insurance covering the appliance. I...

Can Fullness and Cracking Due to TMJD Go Away?

@housemzk True. My dentist 15 years go told me that when I had my bite guard made (which wasn’t covered then either through different insurance). But now that my jaw seems to be locked you woukd think that would be medical? Also, I could have a disk out of place. Eh gads. How is your splint...
