I think you can, absolutely. It'll just take a lot of time and healing to adjust. If you have the support of your family and girlfriend to help you through it, you'll be alright.
It has calmed down for sure over the last two years, I used to hear a lot more beeps and other weird sounds from daily noises but that's all mostly gotten better.
That's great to hear man, it took me a while to really comfortably play video games again too with distortions, but eventually we recover to a point where we can handle it again.
