Pulsatile Tinnitus Caused by Transverse Sinus Stenosis

Yes, Dr. Patsalides is great. I would also recommend the group at NYU Langone. That's who treated me and placed my venous stent.

Pulsatile Tinnitus Caused by Transverse Sinus Stenosis

Before I had the DAVF repaired, I did have narrowing visual field when my heart rate/blood pressure was raised, like with exercise. If you're willing to travel to NYC, I could recommend to you specialists whom are some of the best in the world for your issue, and also who treated me.

If You Have Pulsatile Tinnitus, Here's the First Thing You Need to Do to Get Answers and a Diagnosis

That's unfortunate. Sorry you're suffering with it. In my case, I was diagnosed by imaging tests, not by audiology. Audiologists and ENTs cannot really help with diagnosis.

If You Have Pulsatile Tinnitus, Here's the First Thing You Need to Do to Get Answers and a Diagnosis

Don't go down the path of googling nonsense or listening to opinions of people on here. You have to go to a qualified specialist that is an expert in this field to get a diagnosis. It's rather easy for someone who knows what they are doing. They can determine if it is benign or not. The good...

If You Have Pulsatile Tinnitus, Here's the First Thing You Need to Do to Get Answers and a Diagnosis

I did try Xanax, in the same family. No effect. In my case, the hum stopped when one of my sinus veins fully clotted and shut down in response to the dural fistula, which made my situation dangerous. After surgery, all of my symptoms resolved. Pulsatile tinnitus and hum gone. It took years, but...

If You Have Pulsatile Tinnitus, Here's the First Thing You Need to Do to Get Answers and a Diagnosis

It was like a constant background noise. This was described to me by a surgeon as a "venous hum".

Sound and Sensation of Water Running Though a Pipe When Going from Lying Down to Standing Up

Why not both MRI and MRA at the same time? For my follow-ups I typically do an MRI, MRA, and MRV.

Sound and Sensation of Water Running Though a Pipe When Going from Lying Down to Standing Up

Yeah, this is just irresponsible. Diagnosis of exclusion can't be done until you do the actual excluding by diagnostics. Clinical guesswork isn't sufficient. Don't get too anxious about this, but keep pressing. Sometimes I think it's limited to this country, but I think medicine in general is no...

If you want solid, definite answers, travel to NYU Langone in NYC. That's where most of my surgeries were performed. They are among the best in the world.

Sound and Sensation of Water Running Though a Pipe When Going from Lying Down to Standing Up

This is classic pulsatile tinnitus. Most likely what you are hearing is turbulent flow through your blood vessels close to your ear. This is exactly what I have experienced, and still experience to some degree after it's been repaired. You should get an MRI/MRA and see a neuro interventional...

I Feel My Tinnitus Often Aligns with My Heartbeat — Possibly Pulsatile Tinnitus?

It depends on what the source is. Trying to speculate on the cause is not a good use of time or energy. Go to someone that can find out. In my particular case, it only got worse over time. DAVF are not to be messed with. They are almost 100% guaranteed to rupture and cause a hemorrhage at some...

I Feel My Tinnitus Often Aligns with My Heartbeat — Possibly Pulsatile Tinnitus?

I am not qualified to answer that, and neither is anyone on this forum. Go see a qualified specialist.

I Feel My Tinnitus Often Aligns with My Heartbeat — Possibly Pulsatile Tinnitus?

I mean, speculation is an act in futility. I would go get it checked out. Pulsatile tinnitus by its nature is intermittent, and not at all related to "ordinary" tinnitus. With pulsatile tinnitus, you are hearing just fine, you're just hearing turbulent blood flow in your head. I also have...
