Are Spikes from Loud Noise Permanent?

@Michael Leigh, a car went past, with a loud scream - gear box issue I think. My ears spiked and there has been a hissing ever since. It feels like it's worsening too :( Can this get better?

Headaches Followed by Whooshing Pulsatile Tinnitus — Freaking Out!

The pain is in my forehead. I had an ENT look at me, who said I had swollen turbinates. I don't appear to have high blood pressure? Also, I had an eye test which was normal... The other signs, I don't have. I have a weird whooshing now in both ears. I didn't have that before.

Headaches Followed by Whooshing Pulsatile Tinnitus — Freaking Out!

Guys, I have been getting headaches in my forehead region for 4 months and they have been pretty damn terrible. I have had tinnitus (ringing) since 2016 but lately a whooshing sound has started and it sounds like air going shhh. I don't know if it's in the rhythm of my heart but I know it goes...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Do you think my turbinates being swollen could be the cause of the extra tinnitus noise? I am getting lots of headaches and facial pain too. It’s so grim x I’m curious to whether you have sinus issues - headaches and facial pain? I’ve had them since the beginning of the year. When I can sleep...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Hi. I have an update to share. As you know, I developed a new noise in October. Low-level humming that has been there ever since. It varies in intensity and just appeared randomly. I am so frightened because yesterday another noise was added to the cacophony of noises I already had. My tinnitus...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

I’m wondering if anyone has constant fluctuating tinnitus? One minute it’s doing crazy noises, then goes to one sound for a bit, then bang to the crazy sounds again.

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Thanks @Michael Leigh. I am barely getting 4 hours sleep and that’s with benzos. It makes me relax for a bit, I fall asleep but wake 4 hours or so later and hear the loud noise. It’s, as you stated, a cacophony of sounds. Mine is like a frantic 2 tone violin off tune. It goes berserk on and off...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Can I ask if any of you developed a new tone, like a lower frequency tone, did it ever go away? My other tones are louder and very intrusive. It’s driving me insane :/ I just wish I had hope it will reduce to what it was.

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Hi. I have an appointment tomorrow to ask for that. I also may ask for Mirtazapine as it helped me before. It’s called Remeron in the United States I think. I have a lot of stress around me at the moment, and I’m a mess with this noise which has gone exactly back to how it used to be with...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

I’m having multiple tones and a loud hiss over the top. It’s unbearable. It’s loud and intrusive. I’m a wreck because I can’t sleep and settle.

At breaking point. Not slept. I can’t believe I’m here again, only this time worse. Louder tinnitus and unable to get any rest bite. I can’t go on like this :(

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Hi @Michael Leigh, thank you for your comprehensive response. I have spoken to Julian Cowan Hill but as lovely as he is, he charges a lot and you said it before about it not being a quick fix. Stress takes time to reduce. I did get a good deal on Cranial Sacral Therapy and had a session this...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Thanks for your responses - really appreciate it. I was at breaking point last night and eventually fell asleep exhausted with it. The house move wasn’t that bad. I moved 8 months ago to a lovely little house and I have been enjoying doing up the garden. I have been fairly relaxed and not...

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

Hi @Ken219 - yes. Starting Cranial Sacral Therapy tomorrow. I’ve also had a session with Julian Cowan Hill. Do you believe the new noises can go? And that the old ones can settle? I’m terrified of it getting worse. :-(

After 6 Years of Coping with Tinnitus, I Developed a Low-Pitched Humming — Caused by Stress?

I’m in the U.K. I feel so flat. I’ve gone back to square one. The low-frequency humming is low but then gets louder; it’s hideous and it is intrusive. It stresses me out to a point I feel sick. I didn’t sleep last night. Lay awake nervous and the noise louder to a point my head was...
