Ultrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block for the Treatment of Tinnitus

The difference appears to be the use of ultrasound to better target the stellate ganglion. I am not sure what treatment was offered in Korea. Can you provide a link? Looking back through the forums, it seems that the few people who have tried this may not have received the injection from...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

You only get one chance to launch a new product. I have been at five startups, and we always wished we could take more time to get things right before launching. However, investors often pushed for an early release. The long-term cost to the business of losing a couple of years of revenue is...

Ultrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block for the Treatment of Tinnitus

The results seem impressive to me. There were 80 participants, and 100% showed improvement. The results were statistically significant compared to the control group, which received a standard Lidocaine injection. The average THI score dropped from around 63 to about 38, which means a shift...

    Rinri Therapeutics

Why do we think this could help people with tinnitus? It appears that the treatment is expected to benefit individuals with Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSHL). Are we expecting it to help those who have tinnitus as a result of SSHL?

Tinnitus Masking: Bone Conduction Headphones (e.g., Aftershokz) — Share Your Experience

OpenComm AfterShokz bone conduction headphones are unsafe for a couple of reasons. I detailed here how they damaged my hearing.

The Need for Early Awareness and Guidance on Tinnitus, Hyperacusis, and Noxacusis

This is a great idea. Many potential rescue interventions have a limited window of efficacy (e.g., NAC, oral and intratympanic steroids, HBOT), yet so few doctors are aware of them. Providing people with this information could help them access the right treatment in time. I’d be happy to help...

A Cautionary Tale Regarding Bone Conduction Headphones (Aftershokz OpenComm)

I damaged my left ear in Oct '24 from a concert, which gave me unilateral tinnitus. Since then, I've diligently protected my hearing, and my audiogram has been stable for over a year. I have been using the Aftershokz Opencomm bone conduction headphones for work calls. I only use the right-side...

Tinnitus Worse After Intratympanic Steroid Injection

Oh man, I’m so sorry to hear that. For what it’s worth, everything I’ve read and heard from ENTs suggests that these steroid injections are very safe. There’s no way you could have known in advance that there was any chance they might make things worse.

Tinnitus Worse After Intratympanic Steroid Injection

@Jambo, may I ask why you decided to take oral steroids and get a steroid injection if you had no acoustic trauma and relatively stable tinnitus? What led you to seek those treatments?

Struggling to Get Emergency Intratympanic Steroid Injections After Acoustic Trauma

I’ve heard that intratympanic steroid injections can help reduce the risk of permanent hearing loss and tinnitus after acoustic trauma. Unfortunately, I learned this too late after my first acoustic trauma a year ago, but I just suffered another one. Now, I can’t get anyone to evaluate whether...

    Rescue Protocol After Noise Exposure?

Wondering what people recommend as a “rescue” protocol after noise exposure to reduce hearing loss and tinnitus. I use NAC. Do people recommend steroids? If so, which ones? Is there anything else that might help? I’ve had severe unilateral tinnitus for over a year and use a headset on my...

Ketamine Treatment Clinics & Experiences — Can Ketamine Cure Tinnitus?

@Quiet please, I can confirm that Mindbloom is reputable. The single lozenge is a strong dose, so be prepared—make sure you are lying down and do not need to do anything for a while. It has not had any effect on tinnitus from acoustic trauma.

Tinnitus Masking: Bone Conduction Headphones (e.g., Aftershokz) — Share Your Experience

I use the OpenComm2 AfterShokz for work calls and sometimes to play cricket or cicada sounds to keep myself from going crazy. It is subjective, but it just feels better not having the sound source directly in my ear. So, I quite like them. However, the system sounds—like the beeps when you...

Don't Despair, You Can Get Past This — My Journey with Tinnitus and Adaptation

I don’t think that’s true; it depends on the case. I had mild tinnitus before an acoustic trauma gave me severe, louder-than-everything, constant tinnitus. I think it’s great that some people can habituate and move on, but I don’t think I can ever habituate to mine at the level it is now. Could...
