Lorazepam for 8 Weeks — Do I Need to Taper?

Benzos are so dangerous. Please do NOT ever take more than what you are taking now. Most doctors do not know and do not admit how hard and deadly tapering from a benzo drug is. Whatever you are taking, you need to find someone who is really good and smart to help you taper. I had been given...

    Tinnitus Can Get Better

I am saying tinnitus can get better. I won't say it will get better because as I have seen here, there are so many reasons tinnitus happens. And it all depends on why it most likely happened. If there is injury, damage, horrible noise, disease, dysfunction, and so many things like that--I...

    Alcohol Quiets Down My Tinnitus

If I have a couple of glasses of wine, the tinnitus totally goes away. Why does this happen and is it a good or bad thing? I am sure my tinnitus is related to too much ibuprofen. But I know I can heal because I have had some interludes of total silence. But I really wonder why drinking wine...

It is Sunday afternoon. I had a wonderful day yesterday. Friday night I took some lorazepam as my doctor said to do-more for the panic I get from having tinnitus and my bp which can vary when I panic. I slept really well and yesterday I woke up to silence and it was wonderful all day. I...

I'm New to Tinnitus — I Wonder If Ibuprofen Could Cause Tinnitus?

I don't know where to write this so I will continue here. I have some good things to talk about. So it was a little over three weeks ago that I took ibuprofen and woke up with bad ringing in my ears. No reason to think it would happen, no illness, no loud noise, etc. I have seen my doctor...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

It is early Friday and an update. The tinnitus is mostly there but it can come and go. On Monday in the ER getting iv fluids, and being so quiet, it went away totally. When I have a few glasses of wine at night it mostly stops. I can see that my changing TSH levels most likely have had...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

For me this cold on the neck is a good way to calm the tinnitus. Although I imagine it really depends on the cause. I know mine is not because of injury or loud noise or infection or anything like that. Based on what has happened the past couple of weeks since the tinnitus started, I have...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

Another note from last night. I got quite a bit of sleep last night. I discovered that if I put a plastic cold pack that I keep in the freezer on the back of my neck and lay back and try to sleep the tinnitus almost disappears. That helped mem to sleep.

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

A later note tonight. I have been asleep. The ringing is back but I am not having a panic attack--yet. I have some interesting info for my doctor. That a changing thyroid value could be affecting my blood pressure, also causing ringing. We shall seel.

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

I just got back from a trip to the emergency room---I have been there various times and they have my records so I trust them---I was so sick from having the ringing and it making my heart race and then having horrible panic that I had to do something. They gave me fluids and did a lot of tests...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

Horrible night last night. But then more silence today---but-- Yesterday was Sunday and I walked an hour and a half in the morning and to try to make the ringing go away, I walked an hour and a half in the afternoon. I went to bed and slept soundly for 2 hours but woke up with racing heart...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

Redocooking--it is interesting what you mention about walking. I have healed from some problems and from panic disorder by walking. Every morning I walk at least an hour---depending on the season, sometimes more. And during the night, I have been known to walk in the middle of the night to...

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

For me the worst part of this is that I fall asleep and it wakes me up. I am not the type to consider suicide but when I cannot sleep I want to do that. What do the rest of you do when that happens?

My Tinnitus Stopped for Several Hours — Why? What Happened?

Redocooking, I am curious. You asked the question, what kind of tinnitus do I have? I am not sure how I would know that. I am seeing what everyone is saying here and it seems that so many times it is caused by exposure to loud noise. I have never had that. I have a dear friend whose husband...
