Hi- sorry for getting back to you so late.
I know :( isn’t it horrible? Every doctor and ent advices against the surgery.
I perforated my eardrum during an aeroplane landing. I found out I had an infection too, so it was probably the combination of an infection and the air pressure!
The only...
thank you, same with you!
I’d say it’s about a 4 usually. Sometimes if I’m having a good day, 2-3. I can hear it over most things like the tv, music etc. And when I’m really tired it’s a 5!
You?
Hey,
I’m 24 and also got mine from a perforated eardrum! I haven’t come across anyone who got it like us yet. Unfortunately mine hasn’t (and won’t) heal :(
How did you perforate yours?
hope you’re doing better now xx
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s so tough.
I’m really not sure what’s going on with your ear but I can give a bit of advice based on my own experience.
It’s a horrible and scary time to be going to the doctors, but with ears and tinnitus the earlier you get it checked, the better...
Thank you so much everyone I feel more comforted :)
I’m on my way to the airport now, I’ll update this thread about how I do!
My ent suggested against using earplugs in case of additional pressure! I think and hope that I should be fine with my ear muffs!
Hello,
I will be on a 4 hour flight tomorrow. This is my first flight with a perforated eardrum and tinnitus.
I bought ear muffs to defend my ears from the noise of the aircraft. However I only just noticed that it causes a suction when I remove it. Will this pressure to my eardrums cause any...
thats weird, my clicking is on the opposite side to the side I chew on haha.
Is there anything you can do through the NHS? Keep me updated if you find out anything
Hi guys.
My appointment for the MRI scan was today and I completely had an anxiety attack and chickened out.
I didn’t have the correct earplugs and did not trust the NHS to accommodate for me so I rescheduled the appointment.
I’m going to ask my ENT if it’s 100% necessary to do an MRI, then...
It was in the O2 Arena London which is the 2nd largest U.K. arena! Apparently it was still pretty loud on the seated area where my tickets were booked for. I didn’t know where the speakers were placed either.
Oh wow the Apple watch thing sounds handy! You’ve convinced me to get one haha
That’s interesting actually, they do say dental work can cause tinnitus.
I also have a clicking jaw on my left side (same side as tinnitus) because I’ve been eating on my right side for the past year due to a filling gone wrong! (Also can’t afford to fix it yet). but I’m pretty certain my cause...
I’m sorry I got to this so late.
I’m still avoiding anything that can potentially make things worse, but because I don’t know my limit, it’s hard to tell what I can and cannot do. I haven’t been doing much socialising because of the fear of a spike.
