Non-Ototoxic Nose Sprays? Is Polydexa (Neomycin + Polymyxin B + Dexamethasone) Safe?

Do you know if you have a bacterial or viral infection? The spray would be useless with a viral infection, any perceived benefit would be from the dexamethosone which is a very strong corticosteroid. You can get sprays that are purely corticosteroids I think. If this is just a mild cold, I'd...

Can Tinnitus Spikes Subside After Months?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've had spikes last for hours through to nearly a year or so. I can give more specific examples if you want. Some spikes were completely random, some were coming and going when I was new to tinnitus (I think this is common), some were noise induced, some were...

Can Tinnitus Spikes Subside After Months?

I've had multiple long term spikes resolve themselves over the course of weeks and months. So stay positive and try not to let the spike get you too down!

The Efficacy of Combined Treatment with Sulodexide and Melatonin in Patients with Tinnitus

Just hit up my GP and asked for Sulodexide and unfortunately it's not available in Australia. If any other other Aussies know a source, hit me up. Wouldn't mind giving this a crack.

The Efficacy of Combined Treatment with Sulodexide and Melatonin in Patients with Tinnitus

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2808686/#!po=2.77778 In this study, they were using 2 doses of 250mg in the morning and evening - is this correct? Because everyone else seems to mention 25mg. Bit confused.

Am Gonna Try Surgery for Hyperacusis

Please don't do any surgery. I had severe hyperacusis from 2013 through to the beginning or 2015 and then continued from there to make a complete recovery. My hyperacusis is completely gone and my sound sensitivity is back to normal. My tinnitus is also much more calm. Peep my thread here if...

Small Garage Band Outdoor Concert at Pub — How Big Is the Risk of Tinnitus Worsening?

Usually I'm all for people going out, living life and enjoying themselves as long as they understand the risk and use proper hearing protection like custom molded musician's ear plugs. But you seem to be just days into your tinnitus experience. I would suggest against it: let your ears heal up...

Will Getting Rid of the Hyperacusis Get Rid of the Tinnitus?

I went from severe hyperacusis to no hyperacusis. Unfortunately still deal with tinnitus, but I did find that my tinnitus became much more "stable" and much less intrusive when the hyperacusis went away. The absence of pain meant I paid less attention to my tinnitus and I found my ears did not...

    Why Advise Against Headphones?

I seem to be in the minority here but I've been using in ear earphones the last couple of years and have had no problems. Was scared for a long time because of the hyperacusis I used to deal with but after that went away I slowly brought them back into my regime. Use them when traveling and...

    Tinnitus Is Gone!

Was actually talking to a friend of mine who had tinnitus as a result of concussion. Suffered with it for 5 years and then it gradually faded away for him until he was back to silence. Good to hear that it can go away for some people, even after extender periods of time!
