  • Hey Curious were u ever able to habituate to ur high frequency T?
    BrOKeN_1
Oh sweetheart. I was damn near suicidal into my second month. Still desperately fighting against my new reality. I fully understand what your going through. I needed to get on a antidepressant myself to help with that. Other then that it just took time and unfortunately some degree of acceptance. I'm now 16months in and its still with me but 1000% more manageable. Keep your head up.

Thank u. Happy to hear it will hopefully get easier. I'm medicating as well at this point for the first time in my life. Someone shared a Euthanasia video with me when I was asking for positive stories. Needless to say I'm shaken up pretty good today. @BrOKeN_1

@IntotheBlue03 sorry to hear someone would be that inconsiderate as to share that with you. Suicidal ideation is a common enough side effect with tinnitus sufferers. Especially during the initial onset. I try really hard to just be myself. Take all comments and suggestions you receive from this forum with cautious skepticism. Be kind to yourself.
Hey man! I read your posts regarding the inconsistent tinnitus buzz sound you have. Does it sound something like a power circuit? I am having one right now in my right ear and the way you described yours - I am relating to it. Mine is something like this

An update. I was diagnosed with TMJ. Wearing TMJ splint for 3 weeks, so far the only symptom that got noticeably better is ear fullness.
Is it possible to scan cervical spine for tinnitus? By some MRI or something?
    Wrfortiscue
I feel like I need to do this. My pulsating T gets worse laying down and after I wake up. Tons of neck problems prior too
Interesting how studies about covid vac are done on 30.000 people and tinnitus studies on like 15.
How is possible that my tinnitus is pretty well masked by human speech and water but I can crank up white noise and does nothing for me
    Michael Leigh
Your brain is being distracted by human speech especially if you are engaging in conversation. The same will happen if you are talking on the telephone with someone. Focus is taken away from the tinnitus. You are not helping yourself by cranking up the white noise to masked the tinnitus.
You know that famous study about one guy who had tinnitus for 20 years and they gave him cervical collar and it cured him? I wan't to try it
The bad thing is that I even dehabituated from pre-spike tone. It was unnoticed for a year, and now I notice it all the time
I fear that stress/anxiety/cervical spine induced tinnitus is just trash diagnosis doctors say when they have no idea what is the real cause
A doc told me that overusing Ginkgo, Betahistine etc can cause low BP and headaches. I stopped taking it entirely and I feel better, weird.
I sometimes do neck exercise but always give up after few days of nothing happening. It would be cool to try it for at least a month.
Perhaps I should code a browser extension to stop me from going to TT or googling anything tinnitus related. Because I became addicted.
I think that hearing aids producers + audiologists are bigger enemies of serious tinnitus cure research than CBT providers.
Life in 2030: "Hey boss, I got T. I bought X from Pharmacy and I will return to work a week later when I completely heal, bye!"

    Hilarious.

Guarantee they'll still be saying "a treatment is only 5-10 yrs away!"

There has been a lot of advancements in tinnitus treatment in the last couple of years but it's like gray area treatment they don't really like to talk about it and it's in clinical trials and what not but basically what I'm trying to say is there's been a lot of advancements since my tinnitus started so my question is do you think maybe in 2030 there might be some advanced treatment ???
Everytime I read "Tinnitus is not a disease, just a symptom" ...
    Tezcatlipoca
    it is a symptom
    Stanlex
@Tezcatlipoca it is not. It is a full debilitating disease like all others.
    Tezcatlipoca
Oh believe me, I know it's debilitating. But it's not a disease in itself, it's a symptom of many possible things.
I wonder if dysacusis is a Covid-19 symptom just like altered taste and smell like lots of post-covid people have.
I found out my ear "fullness" is due to my jaw bone pressing against ear canal when sits in its natural position.
Alternative medicine vs normal one is like ThaumCraft vs Tekkit in some Minecraft modpack
    Stacken77
@Stanlex Haha, I actually got that joke as I've played both Tekkit and ThaumCraft.
    Stanlex
@Stacken77 I remember I used to play some mixed modpack with magic and tech mods. I only used the tech mods, because the Thaumcraft was so weird, things like magic altars and so on - just like inside a chiro's office.
Found out that Silencil is a basically a mixture of things in Treatments/Alternative Treatments section.
Stopped ADs a week ago. Today it is the first day in 3 months I really have good mood despite tinnitus.
Phrase "We concluded that X is no more effective than placebo" should be replaced: "We concluded that X is no more effective than Ginkgo."
I found out it is pointless to even talk with audiologists who do not have tinnitus
    Stanlex
@Damocles funny thing was when I was at physio and she was arguing that it couldn't be possible I cannot hear my tinnitus everywhere because when it plays in my ear I must hear it absolutely everywhere. Unfortunately mostly right when it is severe but tinnitus doesn't work that way. Masking is a thing
    Stanlex
@Damocles she also said that I have tinnitus because I don't sport enough and that I can get rid of it if I will walk bare foot on the grass everyday. No comment. A voodoo healer from local village would help me better.
    Bill Bauer
You can tell them that if They were to hear ringing, you wouldn't care either.

    ;)
It never gets better. - my official motto
    Damocles
Once you've reached the bottom the only way is up.

    So let's hope there's a f*cking bottom, eh?
    Tezcatlipoca
Youre very early on, it gets better.
    Stanlex
@Damocles as a CS student I imagine a function where x is time and y is tinnitus loudness. I hope that f'(today) is 0 and that it will be only negative in the future.
