Don't feel bad, I am pretty much in the same boat as you but haven't done anything different. All we can do is try because when it comes to T I honestly don't think anyone knows. The understanding of the whole neurology field is obviously very much in its infancy lol.

My fingers and toes are crossed as well, @ErikaS!

Sending positivity your way :) @ErikaS

Thank you everyone! Trying to stay calm as both tinnitus sounds and sensitivity have spiked. Just going to lay real low this week. No driving and just taking in low ambient sounds around the house and outside on my deck. Going to spend a lot of time in the kitchen with my best friend, aka my low running fridge lol
ErikaS
@Ryan Scott I know we didn't get T the same way, but I can tell you that I continued to "worsen" until month 4, then it plateaued and I really didn't worsen anymore, but I felt I wasn't improving. Now that I have this spike, I am able to realize I did improve in very tiny ways at the slowest of pace. Hoping I can get back there much sooner this time.

I'd bet my car your spike will subside. Thing is I don't have a car. Take loads of rest and sleep. Give your brain the chance to rewire and reset. After years of this T stuff I am 100% convinced quality of sleep plays a crucial part on this.
ErikaS
Yes I agree @El BUZZ ! Thankfully sleep has been pretty good. What I am really struggling with is the long lasting inflammation in my right cochlea from the infection that got in there and caused the SSHL and damage 7 months ago. I have read it can take months for cochlear inflammation to calm, but man its like its so easy to hold it up or set it back!
ErikaS
My distortions are in full force too ;(

@ErikaS
You are not alone, my mate.
I'm very prone to inflammations due to sport practice. Something that has always worked for me has been pineapple, specially the core. High bromelain content. Most powerful anti-inflammatory out there. I also LOVE the flavor and it makes a perfect snack. It has helped me lots and I tell you I've been through some serious inflammations.

@ErikaS Also, we've been taught and raised in an inmediatist society. I want it/I have it. That attitude fills us with impotence and sadness when it comes to deal with delicate stuff like our health. We have to be concious about in which point of the process we are and in fact about that it is exactly that, a process with a beginning and an end.
El BUZZ
Perfect scenario to reconect with our bodies, health and re-educate our values and priorities. To exercise our patience is always a great investment.
Hang in there, I'm confident you'll feel well.
S
How often do you get your distortions? Intermittent or constantly? @ErikaS
H
Spikes are the worst…. Especially when the natural thought process is to try establish causation. As long as you're doing the right things it's best not to overthink the causes you end up living in a constant state of fear. IMO i
ErikaS
@Strawberryblonde I get distortions in the shower, in the car, sometimes the microwave as I am exposed to the sound longer. Anything louder that is a constant sound with many frequency sounds involved. Like when I am in the shower, I hear the water running but I also hear this other constant sound with it that is more electric in nature. In the car, same thing. All due to my SSHL I'm sure.
H
@ErikaS One of my new noises from suspected SSHL sounds like someone is physically dangling an electric wire by my ear. Reacts pretty much the same way you've described
S
It's awful isn't it @ErikaS if it wasn't for reactivity amd distortions, I think I'd be pretty habituated again.

I hear beeps when I flush the toilet or if the noise is more of white noise type, it has the same sound as my morse code but it's not coming from my morse code ear it's like it mimics it, do I assume that's where there's damage :-/
S
It flares up and sometimes it's not there. It's either there and I don't notice it or it actually does go away for a little while. @ErikaS
ErikaS
@Strawberryblonde I COMPLETELY agree with you. If it wasn't for reactivity and distortions, I wouldn't even be on here probably. And my distortions stop as soon as the noise stops so I could mentally deal with that over time, so for me its the God awful reactivity and how it has my tinnitus changing constantly.
