Wasn't your t going away?
Marshall
Going away is a tricky one. It's gotten better from the worst and is non reactive and is extremely stable. But I don't think it'll ever completely go away. Most days I don't notice it bc its so quiet. When I stopped being obsessed with it "going away" the faster I was able to cope with having it.
Marshall
I still have random bad days, and moments, but they are few and far between. And when they do happen It doesn't bother me. Very forgettable.

Glad to have seen your story. Did you have any level of hearing loss? I read through your post but didn't see any reference to it.
RunningMan
My 3rd year starts early this month - I don't know the exact day. 2 years of severe tinnitus (and later hypacusis and TTTS) and tinnitus has actually worsened some with consistent anxiety & insomnia.

@Marshall, thanks for the update mate! Happy for you.
HearingHell
@Marshall Do you still have sound distortions?
Marshall
@HearingHell not really, and if I do its very unnoticeable compared from when this all started. I use to hear loud whistles over running water, my car AC, and other higher frequency noises. Very distracting, but don't experience things like that anymore.
Marshall
My fridge has a weird noise that could be considered a distortion but my wife hears it too, which makes me think they are normal to some degree, but we didn't care unitl we got bad tinnitus.
Marshall
Also music used to be a distorted hell, but that doesn't happen anymore. @HearingHell

@RunningMan I got hit hard with severe tinnitus within the first week, and a month later HA/TTTS. I wore musician earplugs outside the house with 27dbs filters for almost 2 years.
Marshall
@RunningMan but what's funny is that my HA/TTTS didn't get better until I stopped wearing those earplugs everywhere unless it was actually loud. I grinded about 2 months of wondering if I was doing the right or wrong thing bc I thought I was having set backs bc of sound sensitivity, but I kept pushing and it pretty much went away.
Marshall
I think a combination of resting your ears and reintroducing after you feel comfortable and ready @RunningMan idk though this whole shit is a nightmare and confusing. I get on hear to not get ahead of myself find stay humbled so I don't go back to squar one.
RunningMan
Yeah, I've tried to reserve ear protection for loud noises, but not when out in public, walking, or family/restaurants. I use them for biking, blender, mowing, power tools, some on longer drives. Fortunately, hyperacusis is mild and TTTS is occasional. So, it's the tinnitus and anxiety that is still gripping me the most, and then still suffering isomnia & stomach pain after having tried an AD for 7 weeks.
Marshall
They tried so hard to shove AD's down my throat when I went to in patients but I refused bc of the gamble it has on T. I'm sorry, it like every choice you take to get help for this issues could be the worst one. I used musician earplugs everyone for the first year and half which i think helped @RunningMan
HearingHell
@Marshall That's good to hear. Do you remember how long it took for the distortions to go away?
gameover
Fucking assholes try to shove ADs down your throat immediately at the first glimpse of "anxiety" or "depression". Can this worsen tinnitus? "Oh, never!".
Marshall
@gameover ver literally everyone was trying to put me on them, but i stuck to my guns.

@HearingHell they slowly went away over a 2 cource, they also got worse before the got better. The worst one was one i had in the shower, a pure shrieking noise over the water coming out of my shower head.
