Bullshit phases of shitabituation, sorry. Your T is at a level you can tolerate, or you can't. It gets better with time but there are limits.

My Tinnitus has woken me up for nine years. Every night, I have gone days with loud hissing all day until I sleep. Now, I can listen to the hissing throughout the day and forget about it when im busy, and it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I can wake up to the loud ringing and fall back to sleep. I wake up again about an hour later but fall asleep again

Habituation is only for mild cases, with stable non reactive tinnitus

Stage 2 for me I think. But that's granted, it's only been 2 months for me :)

I just went to the ATA website to look at it as I generally pay no attention to what they say but I saw they have an app called SoundPrint where people report the dB level of places. I'm definitely going to be using it from now on.

I will tolerate only when I am back to complete, absolute silence.

@Karolina Well might isn't mild, and it's a mental challenge every day. I believe it depends on an individual's mental strength. If you're mentally strong, you can cope better than someone who isn't.

I think it's more complex than that. Level of T, H/N additionally and environmental factors all contribute to how someone copes with this. Not mental strength; it's hard when some are hearing 80dB+ in their ears. I don't blame them if they're suffering.

Also if you have something like OCD, like myself, habituation gets shadowed over sometimes by hyperfocus. I think it's personal & unique for all in how they can cope.

@weehiru if I'm honest I think basically everyone who is on here regularly has OCD diagnosed or not
