  • Hi Sherri! I am new to this site and Tinnitus. I noticed, from previous posts, that you've had some success with supplements. Can you please let me know how that is going and what you're currently taking to minimize the sound of tinnitus?
Thanks for your reply Sherri. I'll give it a go. I'm already taking b12 (Methylcobalamin) but not Niacine or Magnesium. The doctor also prescribed me 'Adenosine 5-Triphosphate Disodium Salt Hydrate' which is supposed to help the nerves in the brain (I think) and therefore slowly reduce T volume. I've only taken them for a month so it's too early to tell (no improvement yet though).

Thanks Bob2014 pls do keep me updated if the Salt Hydrate makes a difference.
Hi Sherri. Can you please tell me how long it took before you noticed an improvement in your T by taking Niacine, Magnesium and B12?

Hi Bob, sorry can't seem to recall now, maybe a month or so with magnesium and with Niacine and it was much sooner. Recently I started taking vinpocetine and am eating two tablespoons of lecithin granules everyday, that seems to be helping too.vinpocetine 15 mgs twice a day.

my tolerance is being tested. I can't say I've had a good day since this started, but I've been worse.

I wake up with a fresh start... no insults to the ears for all night, then it starts in. Can't wait to get professional help!

    Thanks for asking. :)

bad day to ask! LOL. I was doing great, wonderful progress, but then I had my MRI yesterday. Still resting my ears. Doc found something "suspicious" and felt we needed to check that out.

Hi Sherri, i did get some sleep, only because i went into a self induced coma hahaha!! i live all over the place... UK, USA and Spain, i´m not sure how to get messages from this forum, so very different to FB.. but i would prefer to chat to you on FB, i have so many questions???
Sherri i do take zinc magnesium ginko biloba, just started 3 days ago, i haven´t slept for 40 hrs not a wink, when you say it gets better what do you mean?
    Sherri786
Well the volume eventually does get lower and you wil get " habituated ". I know I hated the word habituated, I just wanted it to go away. . Have you tried taking camomile tea ( night blend ) 2 bags for one cup of tea and seep it for at least 8/9 minutes. The two supplements that have recently brought the volume down for me is Niacine 500 mgs before breakfast and black cohosh pill at bed time.

I will give all those things a try, are you on face book? I´ve been wondering how did you get your T? and what part of Canada do you live in?
Thanks for the hug Sherri, very kind of you x

It started three weeks ago, i used to get a little ringing a long time ago but only for a few hours and then it would go away for long periods, but a few weeks ago i had some diy done and the drilling was very very loud, two days later the ringing started do you think thats the cause?
    Sherri786
Not sure carol....are you taking any supplements and are you getting enough sleep ? I myself in the beginning took Gingko Biloba and zinc, then I experimented with many ore supplements, nowadays I'm taking 500 mgs of Niacine before breakfast, I also take B12, at bedtime I take magnesium an hr before bedtime, I also take black cohosh at bedtime and a cup of night time camomile which relaxes my nerves

I use white noise to sleep at night, I like " water sound for tinnitus " on you tube. T is very tough to deal with in the beginning, but it'll get better.
