  • Inner ear H symptoms (stabbing/palinacousis) respond only to rest. Middle ear issues respond better to mood/sound exposure/supplements.
Almost 3 years into H. Minimal improvement during past year. Still vulnerable to setbacks. Need WFH/quiet job but no relevant skills.
H is better after two years. still using plastic dishes and wearing earpro when cooking/cleaning/when my parents forget to use inside voices
My H is somewhat better. Haven't kept up with research after FREQ/OTIC failure, too depressing.
I would have gone bonkers long ago without my green tea. Thank goodness for the Japanese.
    Croaker
No but it tastes great, the ritual of making it is fun, and it reminds me of better times.

I had green tea today for the first time in 3 years. I had loud T all afternoon.
    H
Tea has been my saviour this past year.. Although I've mainly been drinking pu'erh and Yunnan white tea. Come spring though, I'll be drinking sencha again.
Woke up during a REM cycle last night, VS was crazy. The center of my vision was red with faint weird lines. Gone in the morning.

my VSS is always crazy after first waking up, wonder what the explanation is
    O
I see little white x shapes everywhere if I wake up at night :(
Anybody with Pain H/VS tried Kava?
    Croaker
I just ordered a couple varieties from kalm with kava. Supposed to be a good vendor, better than the supplements etc.
Anybody with H tried hallucinogens? A heavy experience with LSD 5 years ago taught me to respect them but I'm still curious
How am I supposed to recover from this setback when chewing any food irritates my ears?
    X
What has happened? Somewhere I read that you have improved. The crunchy crackling food I avoid also or my eardrum spasms.
    Croaker
I made the mistake of speaking with my normal voice for too long. Thankfully, the irritation from eating is not as bad today. So I hope I can still improve instead of being stuck in a permanent setback.
    Bill Bauer
It ought to improve. Most T and H spikes are temporary spikes.
rotting away in my room, watching my family age. can't even use my normal voice to talk to them.

Know the feeling mate. I've died on the inside. I keep smiling and living and working for my kids
    G
Bro, if I were physically there I'd give you a long hug and a pat on the back.
    weab00
Yup that's how it is these days. Really want to move off the grid but would need to support myself with a farm. I like @GBB 's idea of moving to a South American hut.
sometimes my ear spasms when I bump into something and I expect noise, even if it doesn't actually make a sound.
    Croaker
it also happens (rarely) when I scratch an itch on my leg. so many crossed wires in my brain
    Nadia231
My ears spasm with every tiny sound, when I chew crunchy stuff and even when I scratch (touch) my face, cheek or earlobes... Doesn't make sense
OTO 413, SPI 1005, XEN 496 are the drugs I'm feeling for H. Synapses, inflammation, Kv7 channels... at least one should work.
    Michael01
In my humble opinion I think that FX-322 and OTO 413 are the closest to being released as SPI-1005 is still going through phase 2 testing. The other ones seem much closer to being released.
    Croaker
@Michael01 SPI 1005 is a wildcard because of its relevance to Covid. If it's successful in current testing it could be approved pretty quickly.
    Michael01
Hopefully it is approved, even though it's a wildcard. Anything to kill this hellish thing that's ruining my life.
sometimes, repetitive sounds like distant sirens or crickets stick in my ears for a while. not loud but very disturbing.
    Croaker
Actually I think it's just a changing T tone... it sounds similar to very distant crickets. mixed with a car alarm. hard to keep track of all the noises in my head
Always get an eerie feeling when I notice that the grammar elves have worked their magic on my posts. "Did I say that? Is any of this real?"
I wonder why alcohol helps with H fullness/ache. is it affecting the trigeminal nerve, relaxing tmj, distracting the brain?
    Croaker
not endorsing abuse. alcohol is a powerful drug. but a pour of whiskey is definitely helpful sometimes.
    S
Same here that and a cigar
crunchy ear + eustachian tube feeling stuck open sometimes = trigeminal problem. how do we get that nerve to chill out...
    Croaker
my tmj is worse on that side as well. and it's where my t started after plopping my head on my pillow. but t spread to my other ear a few days after onset... so it's in the brain too.
house-shaking thunder for hours now. huddled up with my old dog, not sure who's more disturbed
I keep hitting a "ceiling" in my H recovery but it seems to have slightly increased over these 4 months.
How are you doing? Is your H improving?
    Croaker
Improvement in some ways, the fullness is uncommon, but the pain is about the same. I took a break from here since the research results we're all waiting on won't be released for a while. Thanks for asking.
    X
For me too. Probably takes a while for this to improve.
Tried lipo flavonoid only because a family member gave me a bottle. Ran out yesterday, T is spiked today. Placebo is a funny thing.
It's fun to follow the SpaceX streams and Starship build updates. Tangible progress in a stagnant world. It distracts me for a time.
I'm a prisoner in my body. Had H for 40 days now. Can't survive years of this. Have to remind myself that some symptoms have faded slightly.
    BBakkers
It's shit, but will get there!
    Croaker
Yes, somehow. Too many things I want out of life to give up yet.
    BBakkers
Exactly. So keep on fighting and hopefully in years you can look back at how well you handled the most shittiest situation.
