Loud Tone for a Few Seconds — Fleeting / Transient Spontaneous Tinnitus

Recently I started to experience short tinnitus in my left ear. For no specific reason my left ear would start to feel full and loose some hearing (like someone put wool over the ear), and this is accompanied by a tone. The tone usually fades in about 30s or so and ear goes back to normal. I...

    My Tinnitus — Epilogue

Hola. PD. La próxima...

    My Tinnitus — Epilogue

No spikes. Overall, tinnitus has been reduced to some static noise when it's really quite. When I put on my double ear protection during shooting I heard that noise all the time. I am used to it so I can ignore it. Occasionally, I would get random pulsatile tinnitus in either ear. It's...

    My Tinnitus — Epilogue

Some time ago I wrote my success story titled "My Tinnitus - Final Chapter" Yesterday, for the first time I went back to the scene of the crime - the shooting range where it all began. Now, I am not a big fan of shooting, which makes my case of getting tinnitus on the gun range even more...

    My Tinnitus — Final Chapter

I am not a big cinema guy so I cannot even comment if I had worn earplugs last time I went. In general I avoid all places with loud sound. I was on tour once in a party bus and it started so loud I asked them to stop and let me off. It was a little embarrassing but who cares, it's my hearing. I...

    My Tinnitus — Final Chapter

I was there summer of 2017, about a week after I got my tinnitus. I don't recall when the forest fire was but when I was there it looked really good. It was raining all week but otherwise had a great time.

    My Tinnitus — Final Chapter

It actually reduced in volume to almost non-existant. It happened very slowly over many month until one day I realized that I don't hear it. Like I said in my post - we don't regrow hearing cells but your brain might make an adjustment.

    My Tinnitus — Week 36

It's my 36th week with tinnitus after loud noise exposure. I am continuing to live very normal life that I had prior to T. I basically do not hear it at all except some static when I go to sleep. On occasion when I wake up at night I would hear mild ringing, and I would be like "Hah... Haven't...

It's my 31st week with tinnitus after loud noise exposure. Over the past few weeks my T was so mild that I actually forgot I have it. What Have You Given Up Because of Your Tinnitus?

Tinnitus Week 2018 / Day 6: What Do You Find Helps Take Your Mind Off Tinnitus?

Usually just changing activity helps with T. If I am watching movies and I get a spike then I go for a walk. Anything to occupy your mind usually helps. Which always makes me think how much of T is psychological vs physical.

    Bose Noise Cancelling

I fly with these Bose headphones and keep them on for hours during flights. Just keep the volume low and you should be fine. Also, if your T is caused by neck issues then you do not have hearing loss. In your case headphones should not be more of a concern then for anyone else. Fix your neck!

Tinnitus Week 2018 / Day 5: What Makes Your Tinnitus Worse?

Wow, a lot of similar responses. For me it's stress and lack of sleep. I suspect sugar in high dosages as well. Recently, I realized that if I rest the back of my head on something (soft or hard) then my static noise increases with time. Once I lift my head it goes away fairly quickly.

Tinnitus Week 2018 / Day 2: How Do You Manage Your Sleep with Tinnitus?

Typically, I do not have issues falling asleep with T. On rare occasions I would wake up with loud T noise, and it almost feels like I went deaf. Then I realize that the room is deathly quite, and that sends my T into overdrive. Once the initial scare passes I fall right back to sleep. Here are...

Tinnitus Week 2018 / Day 1: What Techniques Do You Use to Manage Your Tinnitus?

My T gets worse later in the day from work/stress, and later in the week from lack of sleep catching up. My T is mostly static noise, something you typically hear for few minutes if you were just exposed to sudden, loud noise. When static gets loud it feels like I am standing under electric...

My T does not typically increase when I wake up, but I do sometimes have the clogged ear symptom that tends to resolve itself within an hour.
