    Nightclubs and Tinnitus

Hi guys Can anyone give me any stories about going to nightclubs when you have T? I have had T for about a year and pretty much used to it - it's not super intrusive but always there. I don't want to make it worse! I have a 30th a week this Friday and it's in a loud night club called the...

    Where Did the Time Go?

To be honest no - I just decided fuck it and live my life really. I ain't tried any of the other things which people swear by. It will either get better or it won't I figure and if I start trying stuff then knowing me I will start getting really anxious and want to try everything! The party...

    Earplugs, Raves and Aggravation!

Hey folks So I post quite a bit in the success stories and thankfully my T is usually very manageable. However as te title suggests I went to a rave on Saturday and took my Alpine Party plug ear plugs which are designed for rock concerts. The rave was open - no inside but I seem To have...

    Where Did the Time Go?

@barbb Yeah I wouldn't use cotton. I used alpine party plugs - though I think I've caused a spike in mine. For the first time in a year, mine moved to the centre of my head about 2 am last night. My anxiety severely spiked for sure! Now it's gone back to the usual. So if I were you be extra...

    Where Did the Time Go?

I dont want my post to sound like I am some how amazing at overcoming T or anything - I also have shit days where my anxiety plays up and I feel like shite - however the good days FAR outweigh the bad days with T and thankfully, I no longer feel that same horrific panic and anxiety as when it...

    Where Did the Time Go?

@barbb Sorry I forgot to answer your question fully... Is it normal for it to be quiet then come back blaring? - YES. Totally. I dont get as many random spikes as I useds to but I get them about once per month for a day or two... They used to spike for weeks at a time before. People think...

    Where Did the Time Go?

@barbb Hey, Iam sorry you are not having a good time at the moment. I cant really speak for H - It is not something I have ever had - unless I have it and not aware of it. Although I assume I would know if I did? As for T - I wear ear plugs when in noisy places - clubs, bars etc. If I have...

    Some Advice

@Alue Hey, well I guess I have been quite lucky over all. When mine started it started as the sea shells, then went to a high pitched noise, then a low 'duuuuuuuuuuhhhh' which was really loud and then after a few weeks it calmed down to sounding like a tv/sea shells. I think having any t is...

    Some Advice

Hey Occasionally it is a high pitched noise but usually it sounds like sea shells! My T is noise induced - years of drumming and loud music really.
  12. Chris Alexander

    Some Advice

It can also spike and be louder for a few days the goes down again. I don't have what I assume is really intrusive tinnitus - however when I go to sleep I can hear it really loud - it's like someone howling two sea shells over both my ears!

Hey folks - so someone mailed me seriously depressed and thinking about hurting themselves. I typed a pretty long reply and while I'm sure it's all been said before (spelling mistakes and all!) Where Did the Time Go?

The best advice I can give you is to just lie in bed and listen to it - just give yourself the opportunity to take the mystery and the sting out of it. That's what I did and it helped me. I can sleep with zero sound at all and if I can do it, you can to!

    Where Did the Time Go?

Hey Zaid Yeah, I remember you! Yeah I struggle with the worry if it's going to get worse more than the T itself. Anxiety is a bastard for sure! If it wasn't for my anxiety I would never hear my T to be honest. Do you get the fleeting tinnitus? Every so often one ear ''fills up'' and you...

Zora - yeah I'm at a gig just now and I have ear plugs in. I'm getting Custom ones made at the end of May. I have them in a case and they are attached to my house keys - they Come everywhere. Hey people! So it has been a while since I have posted - apologies! Anyway, I am coming up to my one year anniversary of tinnitus and what a journey it has been. Perception, Anxiety and the Emotional Response

Hey Charlie Yeah I totally get it. The initial period is to say the least very brutal. It took me about 6 weeks of constant panic each time I heard the noise (most of the time) and sleeping for 1/2 hours a night before it started to settle and I started to adjust. You will get there though, we...

    I Actually Don't Give a S*it...

@eric peterson Totally agree that full masking is not advisable. The only way you will get used to this condition is to gradually expose yourself to it to the point where it no longer stimulates a negative response.

    I Actually Don't Give a S*it...

I am sorry this my post seemed to have somewhat divided opinion. Perhaps I came across too much like it's not a big deal, when clearly it is. I was simply making the point that for me, the anxiety and panic and emotional response (negative) was far worse than the T itself. I can hear my T now...

    My Thoughts on Tinnitus

Hey @Nic1982 How are you doing? Listen, I think that you are entitled to be annoyed by this. The message I am trying to get across is that you do not need to live in panic. T for the most part gets better on its own or dissapears completely. Mine could easily come back again but I will get...

6 Weeks In, Still No Relief

I also wanted to say : Live your life how you normally would. DO NOT stay in and moan and feel sorry for yourself. This will make it much much worse. Live your life exactly like you did before - drink alcohol ( in moderation ) go meet girls, drink coffee, go to parties... everything. This...

    My Thoughts on Tinnitus

@JR1986 As far as sleeping pills go - go to the pharmacist and ask for ' Phenegran '. It is an over the counter anti histamine. My Thoughts on Tinnitus

@JR1986 Hey man, listen. I understand it is hard. Everyone here knows how bad the anxiety is. However, as @edwinR just said above, you need to understand and believe that T will not kill you or hurt you. The only thing hurting you is your anxiety and out of control thoughts. I promise you -...

@eldudebro Hey yeah, thanks for that. This is what I have told people over and over again and it is something which I didnt believe at first - Tinnitus is not the problem. Your emotional response to the tinnitus is the problem. This is why I will always tell people to get the panic/anxiety...

@delano1229 tbh I never really bothered to check again. That's how much I've just got over my T. I was offered to go on to a clinical trial also but I turned it down, that's how comfortable I am and also because there are people seriously suffering that need help more than me.
