    Do You Still Watch TV?

I feel your pain. I was just driving and my ear was upset at the sound of the wheels on the road. So I crinkled an empty gummy wrapper that was in my pocket and the ear was soothed. H is seemingly this wild beast tamed by bizarre empty snack baggies.

    Do You Still Watch TV?

White noise at low volume with phone helps while watching TV. Also crinkling a Welch's fruit gummy bag helps via 'tinnitus inhibition'. Mindfulness can also help. But that's more difficult to do it seems.

@Tom Cnyc What is this $100 LED you bought? I'm very curious to try something like this. I don't believe all treatments for tinnitus are BS or snake oil. The medical community and ENT doctors are warped by their own ignorance, blinded by apathy and sidelined by big pharmaceutical companies...

It has quieted down because, I totally ignore it now. Even though it continues to remind me it's there. It sounds like that sinewy sound of a TV that's on with no volume now. Before it was like, well, worse. I recently read Vik Veer's 'Cure For Tinnitus' that I found online, and it seemed to...

Tinnitus Went from Mild to Moderate in a Day and I'm Freaking Out

I was exposed to 2 seconds of air horn this year. Spikes can seem permanent, but most are not. Some days are better than others. You get used to it and it will fade and get less edgey with time. That said, all persons that blow air horns should be tarred and feathered!

Music Makes My Tinnitus Worse — Is It Hyperacusis or Tinnitus When Sound Activates Your Tinnitus?

    1. Mowing the lawn 35 years ago with a Walkman. I noticed ringing ears at bedtime for a few months and immediately stopped listening to the Walkman. 2. Music Makes My Tinnitus Worse — Is It Hyperacusis or Tinnitus When Sound Activates Your Tinnitus?

I'm guessing that a constant tea kettle like noise in my bad ear is not a mild condition? I've had t a few times before this - once in high school and once pretty badly in my 30s. Both of those times the t faded after a few months. This time my t, or this spike in my old t perhaps, is...

Ok, thanks for the help, I appreciate it. I didn't realize t could flip around like that. I have been listening to music but only at absurdly low volumes since the beginning of my t in May. It's only now that it is reacting.

Music Makes My Tinnitus Worse — Is It Hyperacusis or Tinnitus When Sound Activates Your Tinnitus?

Is it hyperacusis or tinnitus when sound activates your tinnitus? As of this week my tinnitus is so soft I can barely hear it in a quiet room. That is a good thing! I admit that. The ear plugs are white cylinder foam 25dB, the ear muffs are basic 25dB. For some reason the frequency of the vacuum cuts through these anyway. I have to be 50 feet away if a vacuum is on with that hearing protection to handle it. Unbelievable!

    It's Raining in My Head

@glynis I think you are correct, ear buds/phones are no good for masking! Even just wearing them for less than 15 minutes as I did today. My T is louder this evening as a result. So its initial comfort translates to higher T volume later. So now the ear buds will have to be vaporized.

    Truck Air Horn Acoustic Trauma

I was sitting in traffic a month ago when this truck blew its air horn for 1 second. It was louder than anything I've ever heard. The truck was 10 feet away and my window was down. I have tinnitus in left ear now. Doctor said 'it should get better' but did not give a timeline. LOL.
