After 2 Intratympanic Ear Injections Ears Keep Popping — GP Said Cloudy Eardrum?

Update: after breathing warm vapours with some decongestant oil in it, my hearing and tinnitus both hugely improved. The ear crackling has also improved, but not as much. I don't think I can do much more, hopefully it will resolve with time.

After 2 Intratympanic Ear Injections Ears Keep Popping — GP Said Cloudy Eardrum?

Hello. A bit more than a month ago I had 2 intratympanic injections of corticosteroids to hopefully improve my noise induced tinnitus, that started 3 months before that. Since the first injection, my ears have been popping when I swallow (I would describe it more like touching a plastic bag...

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Well as always, to me at least, it's extremely hard to tell if anything gave me an improvement or not, as so many things play a role in tinnitus. Unfortunately the 2nd injection was cancelled and I don't know if I'm going to go ahead with them, given the price and that I'm not really disturbed...

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Managed to get my first out of 3 injection today, it was just fine! My tongue is a bit numb now, but I feel ok. Unfortunately the ENT didn't want to do it in both ears, so I only did it on the ear that rings the most. I'll keep you updated.

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

So after my 9th/10th session I got really positive about it and I felt like I had a really good improvement, but then on the weekend the tinnitus got worse again, as it was before. I've done 14 sessions in total and I've decided to stop now. So I don't know if I got any improvement from HBOT...

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

I have finally found a doctor who accepted to try it (costs quite a bit), I think I'll go in next week, but he suggested for one ear only.

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Currently on my 8th session. I believe I'm getting a good improvement. It's hard to say for sure as psychology (and spontaneous healing) plays a huge role in tinnitus and I'm aware of it but the last 3 days it's been bothering less and less and there has been loads of moments when it was quiet...

Nothing to say really. I've done 4 sessions at 1 atm i believe (33 feet they say), i can't tell if it has improved or i'm just in a better mood (more likely) but my T isn't bothering me too much in the last 2 nights.

I got ear plugs and will avoid concerts anyway for at least a few months. I'm currently doing oxygen therapy. You? TP is my favourite game, mainly because of how dark everything in it is.

I'm sure i had some loss already, i've never really taken care of my hearing, loud in-ear music for years + loads of concerts, i wasn't really aware of the consequences, even if already had some tinnitus, but it was completely bearable. I know i'll get used to it, but still, i can't help it but...

It might fluctuate a little but it's pretty much the same. It seems to gets much lower late at night and in the morning. A few weeks ago i stayed up late to pack up for trip and i thought it had passed, as i couldn't hear it anymore, the following days there was never silence so i couldn't...

My ENT Suggested to Always Have Background Noise Around Me

Ok maybe then you get distracted from it as the brain silently gets used to it on its own? Sounds optimistic but I hope so.

A few weeks before me then. The concert wasn't even worth it. I spend most of my time "in silence" so it's very disturbing. Doesn't really bother me outside of home.

And does always having noise around actually help?

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

There is a dip at 4.2 kHz and 8 kHz, but like -30 dB, nothing deadly, but my tinnitus is loooouuud. From the research I've read an injection could "possibly" help my case as well.

My ENT Suggested to Always Have Background Noise Around Me

I had noise induced tinnitus for a few months. I went to a very good ENT who has done a lot of research on tinnitus and ear stuff. He said that the only "working" solution is to always have noise/music around you so that the brain never gets the chance to hear (or possibly, generate) the...

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Guys what is your experience with corticosteroid intratympanic injection? I had noise induced tinnitus for 2 months and I wanted to get an ear injection done, but I've visited 2 doctors already and they said it's not proven to work. Should I keep trying new doctors or should I just surrender?

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

I've started HBOT 2 days ago, i had noise induced T for about 2 months. I'll be doing another 8 33ft sessions, and see whether to continue from there. I don't have high hopes but i'm desperate for any kind of improvement. Is 33ft enough though? My facility doesn't offer more than that.
