My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Thank you for checking in! I'm doing MUCH better. I think the volume of the tinnitus has somewhat reduced, but more than that my brain has been blocking it out. It actually happened more quickly than I expected. I plan to come back and write something in success stories soon.

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Thanks! Picked up a Nac suppliment last night and started it today. Regarding your other questions. I'm taking St. Johns Wort for the anxiety. I have somewhat of a history of becoming fixed on ailments (real or otherwise) and obsessing over them for a few weeks before they slowly fade from...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

I haven't read this whole thread so I apologize if this has already been posted, but it looks like someone made a webpage that will automatically generate the adjacent tones after you select your T tone. https://lukeusmaximus.github.io/acrn-tinnitus-treatment/identify-and-treat.html

Is It Really Possible for Acoustic Trauma Tinnitus to Go Away with Mild Hearing Loss?

This is an inspiration to me as well. I did search some of your posts, did you ever confirm that you had hearing loss? I'm 35 with a new bump in my T after attending a concert (with earplugs) and it's currently ruining my life. I don't know how loud "loud" is (I can't hear mine over the bathroom...

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Thanks for the advice. I took a steroid taper starting the day after I attended that concert, but the dose was fairly low. I’m unaware of what nac or stems are, but would love to know!

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

I think you're right. I've re-traced by the text messages to my wife and mother, and my internet search history in the days before I had issues. I went to the show Sunday night and Monday I was googling tinnitus relief. Looks like i'll be investing in some serious custom-molded plugs in the near...

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Awesome. I've dropped my monitor level quite a bit. If this doesn't get better i'm going to consider moving to a smaller set of speakers (I currently have B&W 802's which are quite large ... though that doesn't mean they have to be loud) and playing around with some equal loudness curves so that...

    Newbie Sleep Suggestions? Help!

Thank you so much. Lot's of reading to do. I'll take the distraction :) Lavender is a great idea. Regarding the pillow speakers I always assumed they've sound muffled, and not mask my high pitched T, but I will certainly look into it! Thanks!

Looking for a Reliable dB Meter (Sound Meter)

What meter did you use for playback calibration? I'm a mastering guy and i've always worked at the same 82dba-ish level that I set by ear. Now that i'm dealing with T i'm inclined to turn down and get more serious about the actual level, but on my phone (iphone x) different apps can vary by...

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Great to hear and I truly hope you are right. Interesting about the Dentist and TMJ. My wife is a hygienist, and although she didn't notice any issues upon quick inspection maybe I'll have the doctor she works under take a look. Mine certainly gets louder when I clench my jaw. I read somewhere...

    Newbie Sleep Suggestions? Help!

I've just recently developed tinnitus and haven't sleep more than a few miserable hours a night since. Looking for some tips. Here's what i've got going on. - I'm a side sleeper, so the second I put either ear to the pillow, tinnitus is all I hear. - My tinnitus is fairly high pitched (at...

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

This is truly an inspiration, thank you! I hope I can shake the obsession with the T and fear of making it worse so I can get back to enjoying the work I do on music. I'm scared, and being overly cautious with work even though I know that i'm listening at a reasonable level and it should not do...

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Thank you both for the insights. Trying to be positive about this, but I'm pretty devastated at the moment. The constant ringing and pressure is absolutely maddening. :( I'm going back through texts and I think my first complaint about this recent bout of loud tinnitus was on the morning of the...

My First Post, Newly Worsened Tinnitus

Hi Everyone, I've been reading this forum a bit over the last few weeks and thought it was finally time to introduce myself. I'm a 35 year old audio engineer, and while i've had tinnitus for as long as I can remember, it has become much more bothersome over the last 10 days or so. I played...
