How Can Benzo Fully Remove Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Hearing Distortion for a Few Hours?

I have been habituated for a long while now to my baseline level. If i don't take benzo for a spike, it goes down as well, just slower, it's a shortcut when needed. At first in 2017, i used to take benzo every 2-3 days. Now, it's more once or twice a month, sometime even less.

How Can Benzo Fully Remove Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Hearing Distortion for a Few Hours?

If you have not noticed, you are on a topic i created over 2 years ago when i discovered the amazing effect benzo had on my ear issues. I do not take them for anxiety. It's 3 years on & it's still working. I'm not taking it daily because that would be dangerous but having benzo to stop /...

How Can Benzo Fully Remove Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Hearing Distortion for a Few Hours?

Benzo saved my life & telling people to not use them because of anecdotal evidences of them not agreeing with some people is not a good idea. As with any medication, you have to be careful, start very slowly & to see if it is working for you.

How Can Benzo Fully Remove Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Hearing Distortion for a Few Hours?

I have had visual snow for a year, started about a year after tinnitus. I don't think benzo even affected it one way or another. Distortion lasted for 3 months for most sounds, metal sounds stayed distorted a few months more. I haven't had any more issue with that since around new year 2018...

How Can Benzo Fully Remove Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Hearing Distortion for a Few Hours?

Still works pretty well. My baseline tinnitus is much lower than it was 3 years ago when I made this thread but I still take benzo whenever I have a spike & it's gone within the hour.

Win, Mostly — I Feel Cured

I first got tinnitus a little over two years ago after a a single acoustic trauma. Tinnitus, hyperacusis, reactive tinnitus. The first few weeks, the sound of a clock ticking hurt me. The sound of the sea waves outside or the sound of the wind did the same, and made my tinnitus react and...

London Underground Noise Could Damage Hearing, Says Academic

Well, life before T was different. I don't even remember thinking once the northern line was loud in the past. Crowded, hot, yeah, but loud, nope. I used to take it between London Bridge & Kings Cross every time i came to London. Then after T, did it once, was terrified by the noise and devised...

London Underground Noise Could Damage Hearing, Says Academic

I travel to London very often. Ever since T, i mostly avoid the underground or keep to modern lines with AC trains. For exemple, i never take the northern line anymore and prefer to use the overground or do a detour via lines using newer stock (the circle line is much quieter for exemple). And...

    Learn from Others' Mistakes

Reactions to this thread are strange. Bill never said every single T sufferer will get worse if exposed to noise level that would be safe for people with healthy ears. He merely stated that there is a very non negligible chance that it may not be safe, and that ear protection might not protect...

    Learn from Others' Mistakes

Since i'm quoted here, i'm going to expand on my case. Tinnitus after 25 minutes in a concert last year (first ever concert, i hate loud place/noise, never gone to one in my life before). I got 3 sounds on my right ear : constant static, pulsative sound & reactive tinnitus (whistle that come...

Even taking a shower spiked T...

Root Canal Needed — My Tinnitus Is Worsened by Noise

Well, from a purely science pov, no. If you add a -249V voltage to 250V voltage, you get a harmless 1 V voltage. That's the idea. I have a signal processing background i KNOW it's the way it works and you get less sound at the end. But even there, even knowing how it works, the idea scare me...

Root Canal Needed — My Tinnitus Is Worsened by Noise

Well, a sound is a wave. Bose ear cancelling headphones send an inverted wavesound in your ears so that the sound is cancelled. So that you ears do not hear anything. Similar as if two seawaves opposite merge, there is no wave remaining, they cancel each other if that makes sense. Of course...

Hey all, I had my initial trauma 10 months ago. Was a difficult first few months, but I protected my hearing a lot (avoiding loud places, wearing custom -35 dB plugs outside and Peltor muff when things got loud). The tinnitus had slowly lowered o a slight "shhh" that was so low i was ok to...

How Do You Adapt to / Live with a Very Reactive Tinnitus?

This is already an old thread. Tbh, i'm finally on my way to habituation from my RT. I realized it's not that loud when it's not reacting, so well, when it's reacting, i just think i'll go back to baseline after, which it always does so far. My current main issue is more of pressure...

Medical Science Cannot Explain What's Happening to Me

Could There Be a "Painkiller" for Tinnitus?

Right away, i was maybe a week in, i was a mess, a psychiatrist prescribed me oxazepam and zopiclone to sleep. Took them, within 15 minutes everything was gone. I celebrated and thought i was cured until it came back the next day and read about benzos/gaba and their effect on some people's T.

Is It Possible to Avoid Loud Places for a Lifetime?

Thanks Michael but i don't see it as negative thinking. I forced myself to do things i didn't like a minimum in order to "fit in" a bit, and eventually got tinnitus out of it. Now i know that those "loud" activities i never liked anyway are dangerous for my ears. That's two reasons to stay...

Do You Think I Could Sue Rock Concert Organizer for Causing My Tinnitus?

I've entertained the possibility of suing the city where i got my T as well. Mine is from a concert in a public place i left quickly since it was terribly loud. I believe we should be safe in public and not exposed to harm (people are free to destroy their ears in private venues).
