Hi @Strawberryblonde! Yes, things are still going well on my side. H pain has mostly subsided and still T fluctuates but is much easier to manage than at onset. Still being careful and protecting my ears when necessary. Happy to hear you're doing OK too!

Thanks for the information, I'll look into a pair of Earasers as a complement to my custom earplugs then. The occlusion effect in mine is as you describe: way better than foam earplugs but still significant. I'll keep this thread updated when I get the Earasers!

Reactive Tinnitus Vs. Hyperacusis: Treatment Crossroads

I am less experienced with tinnitus and hyperacusis then @Benjaminbb and @MindOverMatter but I definitely agree with both their posts. The key is to find a balance between protection and exposure, and that is unfortunately something you will have to figure out for yourself as everyone is...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

Having had three intratympanic shots over three weeks, I'd argue that once a week would make me think twice about it. Especially given the fact that the more holes pierced in your eardrum, the higher the risk of an adverse event.

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

As slide 7 on Frequency Therapeutics' corporate presentation illustrates, FX-322 reaches mostly the outermost portion of the cochlea, which is the zone responsible for hearing very high frequencies (between 8 kHz and 20 kHz). So I don't see a reason for it not be effective for someone who only...

I wish I could tell you what was going on with your fluctuations, but this stuff is so different from person to person. From what I've read on here, fluctuations are usually a good sign, especially if you get moments of (relative) calm. For my part the tones and reactivity started improving...

Reformulated Retigabine (Trobalt): BHV-7000, a Kv7.2 Modulator by Biohaven (Pfizer)

That's a very interesting detail you highlighted here. There's a significant difference between this drug and XEN1101/Trobalt, and that is that the latter also affect GABA receptors. As many users' testimonials have highlighted, GABA-affecting substances (benzos, alcohol...) seem to help with...

@Nadia231 That's the attitude I'm going with. My H pain has been stable in the sense that I've been getting better at knowing what triggers it and the pain level / duration following exposure. So I frame my pain as similar to soreness / hangovers. It's a signal to rest.

@ErikaS Happy to hear the injection wasn't too painful! Every time I got the shot, my T increased temporarily and the tone became sharper. But that always subsided within 24-48h. I blamed it on the fact that my ear was blocked (with the liquid cortisone).
