Suddenly Lost My Hearing and Developed Earache and Pulsatile Tinnitus — Any Reassurance?

Maybe things are different in your country but in case of SSNHL, it sounds like it, or any significant loss of hearing, you don't need an appointment. Just pop up at the nearest ENT. That's what I've done and is common practice here.

Ringing Ears with Ear Pressure and Electrical Vibrations

I do. The same pressure problems. ENTs can't find anything causing this. Eardrums are fine, no fluid, tympanograms are fine. I'm always having pressure, it varies but it's always there. Right now it feels like my head would explode.

    Prednisone Versus Turmeric & Quercetin

3x 250 mg are the guidelines in Germany for acute tinnitus and SSNHL. No tapering. Studies showed lower doses don't do much or anything at all in those two cases, higher doses don't increase the benefit. So, at least here, that's standard procedure :) You got the part where I said I had 5x...

    Prednisone Versus Turmeric & Quercetin

Mhmmm, 40 mg of Prednisone is basically nothing. I doubt such a low dose does anything at all for tinnitus or SSNHL. It isn't even necessary to taper it out. I had Prednisone several times, always 3 days at 250 mg, IV or oral. Sometimes it helped, sometimes not, but it never made anything...

Why Is There Such a Stigma About Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

I was told it's never above 10-20 dB above your hearing threshold... But that also means if you have a loss of, let's say, 40-50 dB, the tinnitus could actually be perceived as 60-70 dB and so on. At least that's what those ENT guys and professors told me. So with severe hearing loss, tinnitus...

Glad to Learn I'm Not Alone — Mild Tinnitus Worsened After Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss

If the oral/IV didn't help, injections won't work either. Intratympanic injection doesn't work better, they just have less systemic stress and are basically an alternative for people who can't take it systemically, like diabetes patients for example. Sure, try it. But it's not a miracle cure...

I whish I had that audiogram. That's basically nothing. Also I'm wondering why a lot of people are getting such low doses of Prednisone? Several studies, at least the German ones I was reading, and how it's done here, it's usually 250 mg for 3 days and done, no need to taper off. Everything...

Tinnitus Spiking and New Tones Appearing While on Prednisone

That's all low doses. The standard course for SSNHL and ACUTE tinnitus is 250 mg for 3 days. Because of that short term use, tapering off isn't needed. I only had spikes and extra sounds at 5 days x 1000 mg, that wasn't for tinnitus though :)
